Bagpuss

I'm planning a birthday party for Saturday 10 March, so here's an invitation to those I know. I sent this out as an email, but there's people on here I don't have email addresses for. Anyway, the plan is this:
5ish-7ish - Meet at the Aire of the Dog pub in Burley. Those who wish can order food.
7ish - Go to the Vue cinema to watch the film Hot Fuzz. http://www.hotfuzz.com/
9ish - Head back to my house for snacks and drink. A selection of beverages including several bottled ales will be available and we will have the grand opening of my bottle of Balvenie DoubleWood single malt scotch whisky.

I live at 34 Norman View, Kirkstall, which is convenient for the 15, 33(A), 49, 50(A), 91, 670, 757 and 760 buses as well as Headingley railway station.

So RSVP (I'd like to know how many to cater for and since the film will only have been out a week, so some advance purchase of tickets and saving of seats may be necessary) and I hope to see you then.

I'm planning to swim this evening anyway, but the Atlantic Ocean is too wide for me to make it to Bagpuss's place in time--especially if any of those buses he mentions are running late. smiley - laugh

Bagpuss, are the buses more dependable than the trains?

Yeah, the invitation was really intended for those who live fairly locally. This continent would be a start.

Hyp - The buses are pretty frequent. Every ten minutes during the day, so you don't end up waiting at the stop for very long.. However, I tend to catch the train into town because it manages the journey a lot more quickly - no bus lanes on the way. The trains are often late and occassionally they fail to turn up, but I have rarely been late to work because of them (admittedly I allow plenty of time, though not as long as I'd need to on the bus). Also they're cheaper and they added extra carriages in january, meaning I don't have to travel "cattle class".

I presume cows also study meteorology, so they know when to lie down.

Cows are a mystery.
The weather is a mystery.
Therefore, cows are one with the weather. smiley - zen
