My Dad Died..
They tell me the pain gets easier Dad,
Yet No one can tell me when,
Do you mind If I shed a few tears for you Dad,
Not a lot,
just a few,
now and then,
I cant quite believe how it is Dad,
that youve gone,
and you're not coming back,
wont you walk by my side for a while Dad,
be my friend,
share a joke,
slap my back,
Do you know what you meant to my life Dad,
can you feel what Im locking away,
all the hurt,
all the tears,
all the grief Dad,
and so much that I wanted to say,
Are yo watching me now, from above Dad,
can you feel,
what I feel,inside?
Do you know how I feel as your son,Dad,
do you know how you filled me with pride,
there are times when I feel you beside me Dad,
there are times when I feel so alone,
there are times when I smile for no reason Dad,
when I sense that Im not on my own,
will you wait for me till Its my time Dad,
For Ive others to help me go on.
but you'll always be here In my heart Dad,
and I'll always be proud,
Im your Son.
My father died on 7 May 1998.
This is his poem,
I dont mind If you copy it,
but please ask me first.
I am Jump the gun.

Hi there Jtg. If it's OK with you, I can put a link from the Lost Poetry Office to your poem. I'll need to copy it as an entry in order to do that, so let me know if that's OK with you.

Like Galaxy Babe says, we shouldn't use this space for just chatting, but as it's a link to you ....just letting you know, I have found your poem a nice quiet corner in the Lost Poetry Office. You can go see it any time either by visiting the Office at A433793 and scrolling through the text til you find your poem referenced ... then click on it, or you can go direct to it at A711352.

Why don't we have a smiley?
This one would have done, I suppose.
I got your drift.
