Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~

Did you ever come across this: http://h2g2.com/user/U176638/conversation/view/F69196/T6410113/page/1/ I'll give you an example of the sillinesses to be found there: "Carry on, carrion, the knight has fallen for the son. In the wake of it all no-one heard the wakeup-call carry on, carrion, carry on!" Finally I reached the shore of never-ever-land for sure Thought the world was my clam realized it was a sham A low 'ha!' escaped my lips when she swayed voluptuous hips under palm trees green with envy evergreens and ever grumpy

Oops, something went wrong smiley - erm
and I wonder why smiley - huh

Anyway, this should correct it:

"Carry on, carrion,
the knight has fallen for the son.
In the wake of it all
no-one heard the wakeup-call
carry on, carrion,
carry on!"

Finally I reached the shore
of never-ever-land for sure
Thought the world was my clam
realized it was a sham

A low 'ha!' escaped my lips
when she swayed voluptuous hips
under palm trees green with envy
evergreens and ever grumpy

If the following doesn't scare you off I don't know what will smiley - biggrin

- - -

In this wake for a postle, a pocryphal god
we empty huge carafes of wine
you may think us heretics - but we are not!
We are prophets - like pearls before swine

We followed this god through the hottest of dunes
spreading her words in oases
acclaiming her wisdom with so many tunes
songs of healing - so many cases!

When the evening grew dark she went for a bath
where the camels are wont to go drinking
but she could not swim which caused Neptune's wrath
so into the depths she was sinking

We empty huge carafes of wine
and blame each other for thinking
this goddess could walk upon water
while the stars above us keep blinking

smiley - pirate

PS: I shall call this poem "Elegy for a Drowned God" (but I could not very well tell you this in advance. Partly because I did not want to reveal anything in advance. Partly because I did not know how this story would end myself smiley - biggrin )
