Would it be possible or useful to anyone else if there were a button on the page to produce a 'Printable Version' of a page - As there is for BBC News Articles...
i.e.: A skin minus the navigation buttons with a full-width layout.

I think that's a great idea, so much easier than copying and pasting into Word and having the program moan about the funny links!

I wanted to print out my EG stuff for my folks who have no PC. I went through all the skins (inc Plain) to see which was most economical.
My biggest problem was the waste of ink and paper. The main body of the text only took up the central third of the page and the rest was the page layout and links.
What should have used 2 pages took 4 or more.
It would be nice to have a simple printable page.

Traveller in Time on top
"It involves a little copy and paste, but for entries you can always use test#### and then copy the raw GuideML version to a notepad document. Replace headers with (depends on your default H1 is normal H8 is ExtraSuperSized)
Rename it to my entry.html and open it with your browser, then print page. "

Yep - but I wanted to impress them, so needed the official BBC stamp to it.
Otherwise I would have just C+P it as you suggested, but used Word, like I do when I am subbing entries.

All that's very well, but it involves technical knowhow and manipulation on the part of the user...
When you're looking at a BBC News page there's a simple button that when pressed opens a fresh window with the text of the article, the BBC logo and no extraneous web-page junk...
Have a look at this for an example...

at one click of a button.

Not quite as clear as Whisky's example but how about the text only version of an entry?

It'd certainly be easier than cut and pasting from the main version.
I agree it'd be a good new feature to have it as a single click.

I've just been on the receiving end of a disdainful look from Mother after printing off one of my entries, so was about to suggest this very thing.
Instead I'll just add my voice th the throng before the suggestion slips any further back into the dungeon of unloved h2g2 suggestions.
