Well... whyforever not!??
question: If one researcher makes a smiley that others like, and if others have permission to use it, will the new custom smiley program be able to accomodate for that!??
If we go by usernumber, that might work... Herrrrmmmm.....

That would basically mean that you could end up with 6000-odd (or more) new smilies, which is a sure way to kill the servers. I believe they're having a hard enough time with the 90-odd we've got now.

Yes... could end up with that many... but at the same time, I think there are about 200-300 really serious researchers who would take the time to customize their own smiley-- perhaps less than that!?
But yes... shouldn't risk that one... !!! <-- he's sooo cute!!!
Thought of another needed smiley-- an envelope!!!

I'd say for the to work, and not crash the servers, there shoudl be an option on the prefs page where you could type in the URL for your smiley. Of course, there'd have to be a limit on the size.

I think there's about as much chance of me getting my butterfly smiley as I have of winning the lottery this week.

Has anyone actually read this far? Hello? Anyone here?
On the off chance that the editors tart implementing new smileys in the near future, I present:
the picasso smiley (look carefully) &%\V
the pac-man smiley (my own invention, as far as I know) (*<

That should have read "editors start" not "editors tart". The editors do not patronise tarts as far as I know, and I intend no intrusion into their privat lives. I didn't inhale.

all i want is a few nice candy smileys. like wrapped bonbons or something. well, and maybe a smiley smacking another. sometimes just a tomato smack isn't enough.
