Folks,
Some people have mentioned the feature in alabaster of having buttons to go to who's online, etc.
If you want buttons on your home page in Goo, I've got some you can use (see near the top of my home page). Feel free to steal and use any of them if you like. If you want a button with something else on it, let me know and I'll be happy to create one for you. (they're done with transparent background so they look OK in 'that other skin' as well )
One little trick... in order to create a button for the 'who's online' gimmick, you actually have to use the IMG tag for the button instead of the PICTURE tag:

If you want to find out who's online without adding anything to your page go to the link http://www.h2g2.com/online (ie go to the main page and add online to the end) I'll show the online page in whatever skin you use (or choose with &skin=?).

Ok, that works, but what if you're in HTML? I mean, you just have to add that whole gubbins of javascript, right?

If you're doing your page in plain HTML try Who's Online for adding a who's online link to your page.
I normally just go to the H2G2 home page and type online at the end of the URL in the location bar

GOO all the way. I found h2g2 before when they didn't have alabaster and I really liked it. When I finally became a researcher and saw that h2g2 came up in the new fangled alabaster, I was ticked!
When I messed with my prefences though, I found the GOO.

Why did the Alabaster get introduced as all it seems to have done is cause problems....I have discovered that you highlight the black screen if your in Alabater you can see it....that is others pages!

Well, yeah, you can always see the text if you highlight it, but it kinda ruins the effect overall
