With reference to paragraph five in the “Spoons” item. The writer would appear to have completely ignored the meniscus, which would be present if the spoons’ bowl was full. As to the exact given volume of a liquid present in such circumstances, it may possibly be presumed that the said spoonful of liquid is indeed a heaped spoonful. Thereby putting the lie to the statement that “you can’t have a heaped spoonful of a liquid (when the liquid is in a liquid state - for the pedantics amongst us)” – or does someone else know better!
