It's the last day of April, 2015. I am facing the weekend with trepidation but also thankfulness - on Sunday I turn 60 years of age - I don't feel like celebrating but on the other hand as some of my friends and family didn't make it this far I feel lucky and thankful to still be here.
I won't get my pension or a pass until I am 66, so don't have those perks to look forward to.
Plans are already being made and my diary for the weekend is being pencilled in one hour slots. I'll be spending Saturday with Mum and my sister is coming to hers with and on my birthday Sunday with Ian and going out for lunch with my best friend and her hubby (that's never happened before, it's usually me & her) and she's being very coy about the details??? #1 daughter and her fella will be away for the weekend but they're calling sometime Sunday night on their way home. Haven't heard from Allan yet but he is still recovering from his first marathon in London last weekend - his time was 4hr 8mins, and he finished in 12,121th place!
I already have cards & gifts which have been arriving in dribs and drabs (even my #2 daughter's card & gift was early as I saw her last week when my nephew got married) but they will remain unopened until the big day.
Cheers everyoneand

Happy Birthday, GB. Birthdays are good things. The number isn't important.

Have a great weekend.
I passed my milestone last year & can honestly say I feel no different. Don't mind claiming over 60 status for any concessions going! I have got a Senior railcard, but disappointingly no-one has said I look too young to have one...

A very Happy Birthday GB, and anything else that takes your fancy.
You can either regret being 60 or celebrate the start of a new era and I did the latter and I am still doing it. Every day is a gift, and you have a family and friends which many do not have.
Enjoy the weekend,

In Germany, it's frowned on to congratulate before the actual day - it's considered bad luck. Actually I think that's rich, coming from a country that celebrates Christmas a day too early, but I still have a smidgeon of superstition about jumping the gun.
So now it's the day - I can wish you a Happy Birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GALAXY BABE!

Happy Birthday!
It's an important birthday - 60 is the smallest number which divides by 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
