That's how old I feel after this weekend.
And it's how old Ron is tomorrow. I've bought him a "walking umbrella" in black and white stripes.
We're going out for a meal tomorrow night

Hippy Birdie to Ron!
So, when will we get that umbrella smiley, then? I think you UK folks need it, really I do!
Hope all are dry for the moment!

Why, what happens at 72?
A walking umbrella is a stiff one that doesn't fold, people are using them as walking sticks when it's not raining () I think they are also called "golf umbrellas"
Thank you all, I'm not seeing him until tonight but I will pass on your best wishesand we have a fortnight's gossip to catch up on (he's just been on holiday with his daughter's family, to Centre Parks)

Certainly did
I had salmon and avocado starter; lamb cutlets with new potatoes and carrot/swede mash and home-made mint sauce and redcurrant jelly; finishing with strawberries, cream and meringue.
Sorry to all those having sandwiches for lunch

I'd call that a normal umbrella, as opposed to a folding one. Golf umbrellas are the big ones (usually stripy). Patio umbrellas are the really big ones. Could do with one of those, this weather.
Rained today for a total of c. 30 seconds. And actually very warm some of the time.

It was John Wilmot the Earl of Rochester who sadly passed away on this very day, 26th July in the year of our lord 1680, attending to the "important business of the age" - women, politics and drinking.
Unfortunately the celebrated Earl was finally worn but, to put put it politely, at the tender age of 33.
