There isn't anything that's as gorgeous as the taste of strawberries that you've just picked yourself...

When me and mum go strawberry picking we pick pounds on the stuff. Then I feed her them on the way home as she's driving. Then we make jam

Some of you will consider this as an unholy thing to do with God's great red fruit, but I can assure you that this is an entirely healthy endeavour:
1. Get a blender or smoothie maker - something with a container that can be sealed and an electric blade.
2. Buy strawberries, or grow them yourself. The best tasting stawberries come from a relative's lovely garden. Grandparents who live in picturesque villages on good soil and who love their gardens are a good bet. They usually won't make you pay for the strawberries, either.
3. Buy cheap strawberry ice-cream, strawberry flavoured milkshake syrup (eg Crusha), and lots of semi-skimmed milk.
4. Fill the blender to one-third full with ice-cream, then a generous splash of syrup. Top up to almost full with milk. Add 4-5 strawberries.
5. Blend until smooth, pour into pint pots and drink.
Trust me - I am an expert. I did a summer on the blender at school - that's with 5-litre tubs of ice-cream, 24-pint cartons of milk, etc.

Mmmmmmmmm that sounds delicious.
The most sublime dessert I had in a restaurant was , obviously , dressed with honey and balsamic vinegar. It was wonderful and I must see if I can find a recipe for it.

Wozzer uses sugar instead of honey, but I don't mind buying a few more s to experiment with.
