Sho - employed again!

I need to practice writing, and I have just started something new, so I've decided to Blog about it. That is: my journey to work via public transport and my Shiny New Bike.

and... here it is

Coolio, will add you to my RSS and blog roll.

good fun being all self important and indulgant (which I am given to understand in the principal function of the blogosphere, certainly what attracted me smiley - winkeye)

I really have no idea what RSS means... hahaha even though I've been around and about the interweb for yonks and yonks. It sounds like something you need to go to the doctor for! smiley - laugh

As for the self indulgent: well, yes. On the other hand, it's not going to be a lot of very personal stuff, of the kind I would write in a journal (a habit I need to get back into after a quarter century of not doing it) but I do need the writing practice. And if that can be done fairly painlessly in public - then all the better for me.

I'm not really here

White on black is very hard to read. smiley - sadface Shame, as I read a lot of blogs, and love transport blogs.

Sorry, Mina. I may change it at some point - but I actually think that the dark background and the light writing is easier to read.

Strange, eh?
(it's not actually that interesting though smiley - winkeye) but stay subscribed to this because I'm messing with templates and I'll put a message here if I change it

Have to say I find any colour text on black background less pleasant to read too. smiley - smiley

Hi Mina, Hi WS

is that easier to read? I have to say I prefer the typeface on this one. I also like the grassy background - in keeping with the environmentally nicer way I'm travelling.

Cheerful Dragon

When I first saw the subject, I thought it said "Oh - suddenly I'm a Bodger". Or maybe it was Badger.smiley - erm

I didn't see the blog before the colours changed, but right now it's easy enough to read.

Back in the 80s, in the early days of computer monitors, a survey was done to find the best colour combination. It was found that orange text on black was easiest on the eyes, green-on-black was OK, but white-on-black was hard to cope with for long periods.

On h2g2 I'm an alabasterd because I find the colours easier to live with than brunel.

Sho, that is much easier on the eye, for me at least, and it is cheerful too, not like the black smiley - smiley I shall look forward to reading from time to time.

Thank you.

You can call me TC

I have to work with white-on-black 8 hours a day (except when I'm looking at hootoo, which is white on blue). It never occurred to me that it could be a problem. Orange on black would drive me mad, but if I didn't have a choice, I could put up with it; would probably have nightmares, though.

BTW - I'm enjoying the blog, whatever colour it is. Can really relate to it! I've never really travelled by bus much, particularly as only about one a day goes through our village. Trains go every hour South to Karlsruhe and North to Mannheim and the station is five minutes walk from my door.

Nice blogs! smiley - snork

Oh wait, that's not what blog means, is it?

Anyway, good stuff. Are you going to give the dead man a prod on Monday?

RFsmiley - evilgrin

p.s. Our bus stops have names too. Mine is Lady Dock Path/The Ship York. Couldn't they come up with something slightly snappier?

Lady Dock Path sounds like the thing that would make Beavis and Butthead snigger.

If I can find a convenient stick, I'll prod the "dead" fellow.

I added your blog to my feed aggregator. We're not allowed to access blogs at the office, so I can read from the feed reader but not comment. So forgive me if I mostly lurk. It will be fun to read of your transport related adventures. Nothing exciting ever happens to me on the train. I'm not on it long enough. Certainly no "bodies"! smiley - biggrin

Oh, and I don't mind reading white text on a colored background, except that it makes it harder to create the illusion of not mucking around on the internet if I'm reading something at work. I used to prefer Goo here for that reason (that and the frames).
