Apparently, a load of cars where once recalled due to a faulty nut behind the steering wheel. Defining behind as *towards the back of the car* ....

I used to work in a dealership service department. We always has customers complaining about problems that we couldn't find. We referred to it as 'a loose nut behind the wheel'.

I would have liked to on some occasions. We had to be a little more tactful though.

Tacks are for New car dealer service teknitions. Besides, they're the only ones who'd let a car out with a loose nut.
I guess that's the difference between a mechanic and a parts changer.
(nothing personal, just venting)
-righty tighty, lefty loosy- ...(lest of course, you have a Willy's or such whose designers were compelled to reverse the threads on the left side...)
