Auto club to the rescue

I believe that being able to replace a flat tyre should be a vital, part of obtaining a drivers licence. I tried to teach my daughter the correct and safe way but she still passed the drivers test without this valuable knowledge. Why risk getting your nails chipped when you can call the auto club and a nice man will come and fix it for you. Then you don't need to know if the nut has a left hand thread and should, right way to the left thread. Not many vehicles have left hand treads but they persist. just don't let your phone battery get flat.

Just had to wait 4 hours for the AA. I'm home but I am still waiting for the car to arrive (and yes the battery on my phone was flat).

A basic understanding to repair common break-down issues is very valuable. Even when you keep your cell phone fully charged (granting that you have one), there are times when cellular service is not available. These remote areas are where a break-down seems to become more likely; in the mountains or a desert for example.
Sometimes you don't have the luxury of waiting for a wrecker to come to your aid. If you were driving an injured person to the hospital, the ability to repair your vehicle could mean the difference between life and death.
It is wiser to have skills you don't need, than to need skills you don't have.
