Considering there are plenty of lazy Americans, I'm not sure either.

I'd argue about that, but I'm feeling too lazy.

I've not read a single Prachett book, although I suppose I really should.
I'm feeling pretty terrific, if exhausted! My workshops today went *really* well, and I'm wondering if perhaps there was some good karma or what going on. I mean, they went insanely well. Smooth, lots of good ideas, and even better, get this...under time by 20 minutes!
WOOHOO!

By the way, as to that remark about my Somerset accent, I thought the point was that sailors came from Somerset and Dorset, hence the pirate accent.
Now if I had said, "Ooh ah," I could understand being gigged.

Lil, everyone, its time for me to head off I'm afraid. You have my email address, so should any of you ever manage to my neck of the woods, then please feel free to get in touch, whether for a lift, a pint or a bed for a night or two.
Your company on H2G2 has added to my life, and for that I thank you all.
Take care in all you do.

Lil, I have no time left any more.
A peaceful moment, a glass of Scotch and mbougatses and nice company, first in the Aroma Cafe and more recently in the Atelier.
Life choices. We all have crunch moments. For me, now, I have to accept that I have not the time to come visit anymore. Perhaps some time in the future that will change. I hope that may be the case, and that the souls on their keyboards that I have come to like and respect may still be around.
My thanks Lil, for hosting a place where i could relax, and SMILE. To you I owe the most.
Thank you.

Ahoy, fellow pirates.
> I have just found a real, proper use for olives You can use them to play the part of eyes in a nasty children feel-horrible-things game for Halloween..
Argh, matey, pearl onions are also good for that.
> One book - hands over your ears, Librarian friends, annoyed me so much that it was actually thrown in the waste paper bin. It purported to be a historical novel but was so badly researched and written that the reading of it was a form of torture.
Shiver me timbers. I've done that before. Not often. The reason I throw the book away is that I want to keep it from victimizing anybody else. The last book I threw away was actually a series - the Well World series, by Jack L. Chalker. The first book was interesting, the second, not so much, the third, boring, the fourth... well, you get the idea. The sixth book was such a monumental waste of time that I became enraged and threw the book on the floor, then got up and gathered all the books and threw them in the dumpster outside, figuring that I'd never want to read them again. I was right.
> So let's have a poll. Of PTerry's city watch series, which is your favourite and which do you think is the best?
I like both Night Watch and Feet of Clay. I can't say that I have a favorite... But 5th Elephant is #2 or #3.
Eatsmice, sorry to see you go! Where are you going?

I had a lovely visit with my friends. But I'm too tired at the moment to tell you about it.
Sol, dear, hope you're feeling better soon.
Eats, it has been a pleasure. Take care.

Eats, don't know you very well but, you have graced us all with your presence here and for that I thank you. Fair winds and safe journey to wherever life takes you.

Eats, I don't want to get inappropriately sentimental, it's enough to say that I have enjoyed your company and occasionally been moved by the glimses you have given us of your life.
Please take care, and please let Lil know how you are occasionally, so she can pass on news to us.
We need cats with your values in this world.

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted Sep 20, 2005
Lil, it was the 'o' which preceded your 'arr's which made me think of Somerset... yes, a lot of pirates were from the West Country on account of the fact that most ships going to the New World went from Plymouth and Bristol, but there are still differences in accent, allow me to demonstrate:
"Arrr! Lash 'im to the mizzenmast and cut 'im from groin to gizzard!"
"Oo-arr! Them zoider aables be lookin' about roipe."
