Not too bad Eats!
Have been sat here for 12 hours plus trying to keep up with events.
Gravity is interesting though. Having hell of a job on another thread trying to convince some others that the inverse square law is really that, an immutable Law of physics, and that the gravity combined of all the planets could not possibly effect the sun.
Hey Ho. Heady stuff!!

Chris Tonks Posted Jan 31, 2011
Good evening everybody. I've managed to get Brunel back, so my smileys are working again. But my username's shown differently wherever I look. My full name's meant to be in there somewhere.
I'm going to have to get used to checking the Atelier every day again. For the moment I'm bound to reply on subjects that really ended days ago.
I'm not sure Facebook's built for long conversations. Not right on a group's front page at any rate. As the conversation goes on, clicking 'View all comments' will take ever longer to work its magic. And its magic's flakey enough in my browser at the best of times. There did used to be the ability to post proper threads, but I can't find it now.
I've been nothing but myself online for ages. The only character I've played in years (in The Matrix Online MMORPG) was pretty much me as well, displaced into a sci-fi setting. But what's that about expressing myself maturely Titania? Are you sure you're thinking of the right Professor?
Congratulations, Sol! The Comet may well be the first daughter of the next iteration of h2g2. And might I add that May is an excellent month to be born in.
sea. Now there's a name that rings a few bells!

minichessemouse - Ahoy there me barnacle! Posted Jan 31, 2011
just had a lovely candlelit bath (the extractor fan in our bathroom makes on helluva noise) Used a weird facemask thingy to help try and clear my skin up for Wednesday (eek it's this week!) as i need to look presentable. what with being bridesmaid and all.
The rehearsals for the Scout Gangshow are going well. I auditioned for two of the singing solo's tonight, won't hear back until next Sunday though. Even if I don't get one I still have a part in one of the comedy sketches. I know it's probably a big ask of any of you, but do let me know if anybody is interested in seeing a performing mouse. The show is on during the first week in April in the Dundee Whitehall Theare. I can post a link to tickets if anyone is interested.

Sorry mouse!
Dundee too far away for me.
Good luck anyway!

Hey sea! *waves* Are you on Facebook? We have an ejection pod all set up just in case things go kablooey here.
I agree with your assessment of FB, Tonks; it's built for conversations more superficial than what tends to go on here. As for your alter egos of yore, I would have described them as precocious. You were about 14 when you first joined, weren't you? Now I would probably be likely to assess your alter egos as dangerous , at least going by that FB photo...
Was a busy day today, and I got on ever so well with the new Quaker meeting attender.
And I'm reading P G Wodehouse for the very first time. I can't remember the name of the play David B was in, but his character keeps coming to my mind as I read Bertie Wooster's voice.

G'night, GDZ.
I've just finished loading up tweets for tomorrow on the twitter accounts @h2g2c2 and @h2g2_Guide. *rubs eyes*
What a week! We went from struggling with barlesque bugs and short-comings to joining h2g2c2 and grabbing a bit from the things-to-do list.

I'll be out today with job stuff, including signing on.
I imagine the local paper will be full of events at Meadow Lane

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Jan 31, 2011
Morning folks
Eats, I envy you having to explain gravity, this weekend I had the second most dreaded question from a three year old - mummy, can people die? It all started when he asked if we could go to a zoo to see some dinosaurs. After I finished explaining about mass extinction events he remembered he had seen dinosaur bones at the natural history museum and then came out with the question about dying (A: Yes, everybody dies eventually), then to follow up Q: but I won't die will I? A: Yes, but not for a very long time. Q: Will I come back again? A: No, so we'd better have as much fun as we can while we have got the chance. Q:Do you know anybody who has died? A: My grandparents. Q: Can wee see them in the museum too? Bless.

Rather deep discussions going on with small things there Kelli and Eats. Sounds like you're getting there on the explanations though. It does make going out on saturday and buying spuds to plant later this year seem quite a simple job. It would have been if there had been fewer varieties to choose from but at over 100 varieties from new ones to ones with heritage over 100 years old it was difficult at times.
Nice to see you're getting back with the Quaker meetings Lil.
Sol, Eats isn't just in Scotland far away, he's far away when you get to Scotland!

Phil - you have just reminded me to get on the internet and buy some Maya Gold - have been wanting to try them since they were launched a few years ago and always miss the ordering window...

I feel good. I've been without assignment at work for a couple of days, and had some time to look at the internal processes at w*rk. And enjoying this. Spooky, isn't it?
And I've also started to contribute to the h2g2c2 thing, and enjoying that too.
*And* just now, my boss called, and the customer wants me back, tomorrow!
Sol, if you own that crosstitch, it's yours. It's only when you claim to have *made* it, that I might give you the famous Lòók.

Hey everybody.
I need to control my Gear Aquisition Syndrome better... I've only had my bass two days and I'm already looking at possibilities for the next model!

*Not knowing how to re-enter the Atelier after two years' worth of absences, strides confidently up the wall in the guise of a gecko. Nothing too scary, mind - just the little transparent ones that eat flies.*

You're so right Phil. Add another four hours drive from Glasgow to get up to here. And another £30 in delivery charges
Sol, before I pop my clogs my wish is to get hold of a glass deck. Linn made them, not sure if they still do. But then I would have to upgrade from my Arcam Delta amp. And dig out my spiked speaker stands from the loft.
A sick kangaroo at home now. She's suffering from the headachey, nausea bug that I had last week. I did get a productive morning chopping away at a row of carnivorous Leylandi at a colleagues garden. Excellent chainsaw action to be had. Dry and mild today, which made it great for working outdoors.
