Lil, did you realise a lot of people on site were celebrating Mark Moxom's 30th birthday yesterday?

That makes the success of The Celery's gala event even more amazing.

I had no idea! Someone should have cross-posted the news, and we could have toasted him at the banquet. A libation for the powers in the towers. Perhaps it's not too late.

I shall be offline much of tomorrow -- finally getting this laptop fixed.

*wakes and stretches in warm dark nest*
Ahhh. I'm in owner buddy's room. private. Sleep good, sleep safe.
*comes out of nest box and finds soft, very soft shawl and note* Better than feathers! *drags shawl back into nest and makes a cozy place on top of feathers* rrrrr nice.

*runs into bathroom and gets long drink from faucet then washes face hands and whiskers*
Food here when owner buddy gets back...
*sits in fron of dark empty hearth and reads note then tucks it into back of nest with note from ox and postcard*
Huh.

*runs silently out of Qroom and down hall, round corner. sneaks into Lil's studio. Desks and tables and computers all around. moves along under tables. finds a plain desk with pad of paper and pens and writes a note.*
Urr, I need a pen my size.
*takes note and moves into next room. puts note on table by bed and extracts a stone the size of a walnut but slightly flatter, puts it on top of note*
*moves quietly to windows*
Nothing out here but meat eating plant. Everyone at big party, huh.

*comes into salon from veranda*
*goes into kitchen and finds some cheese and pastry on counter. eats and has another drink*

*pulls whiskers and thinks*

Go back to party? No. Enough people for a lng time. Explore? Not yet. I need tools and I still have job to do. Move and decide.

*goes out ratflap*
FLAP-FLAPP!

Well! Somebody had a long sleep.
*picks up phone*
Affi, can I borrow Ampton for a few hours? With Minoova gone there is nobody up here but Mindspring, oh, and we need to repot Violet...

*a few moments later Ampton comes up the stairs* Ampton, be on hand for a while please. Yes, you can fetch drinks if anybody visits.

*comes into salon and finds Ampton with the Food Lady*

Ampton, get Styx a ginger ale with two cherries in it. I'll have champagne.

*comes over and stands up, leaning on Lils knee*

*Lil puts stone under light and color changes from dull black to indigo blue. a star can be seen pulsing and changing colours, can feel energy*

I got it from blind rat down in caves. He said it is a nova sapphire. Said it is magic but don't know how.

*backs off and pulls cherry out of drink Ampton put on floor. dunks and nibbles cherry*

*is completely astonished* It must be magic, I can feel power .... and look at the colours! *shakes her head to avoid becoming hypnotised* I'm going to wear this, but in a medicine pouch. Hm. I'll ask Titania tomorrow if she has fabric that shields power.
*looks over at rat*
OK, I'll personally see to your feeding. And please continue to be an honoured guest in my house, even if you are evil eyed and rude.
*grins at Styx and clutches stone to her heart, feeling beneficent power pulse out in waves*

*shakes hard all over then adjusts back pack and leaves*

*goes into private apartments and roots around in wardrobe, finally coming up with an old fringed medicine pouch on a long leather thong*
*the jewel slips easily into the pouch and a flap tucks inside the bag to hold it in place*
*Lil lets down the sari and ties the pouch around her waist then readjusts the garment and comes back into the salon*

Ampton, I'll have another champagne. *relaxes on sofa, sesning the stone's presence*
