Hi Bluesue, good to see you back. I think there is the odd bug with the new Pliny thing but I am still able to get in ok and I am sure you will soon.
It's soggy here too though very mild today. I am still in the throes of decorating, mainly because I totally ran out of 'oomph' and have had to rest. Being 67 too I tend to forgot I am not as young as I used to be and must take things a bit slower.
The time is flying by and it will soon be time for us to be joining you down there. I hope we can arrange to meet up at some stage.

Hi WS, i think i have this new thing organised. You must email me and let me know when you are coming down,i can then make plans with work and take time off. I have loads of days due to me.
Even though the weather has been rubbish, i have been playing with my new greenhouse. It is only a plastic one, but, big enough to wander about in. So far,i have planted 6 different varieties of tomato, climbing cucumbers and courgettes, lettuce, radish, peppers and chillies. The good thing is,i can muck about in there even when it is raining
The sad news is,my woodpecker seems to have gone! I had such high hopes of young and loads of pictures, then one day it just disappeared still, there are loads of other birds for me to watch
The weather here is on the up,so next week i hope to get out and about a bit more than i have been,i can't wait!
I am so looking forward to meeting up again,if you have time, look up Seatown,it is a bit further on than Bridport, Scorp and SS liked it there, lovely beach, pub with good food, cliffs and fossils, what more could a gal want eh? We could meet there.
If i have done the link right, this should take you to Seatown,

Thanks Sue I will take a look. C is away in Whitstable with a friend this coming week but I will let you know the dates (not on here) and we can arrange something. We had to book Friday to Friday this time which is annoying, let's hope the weather is reasonable.
My woodpecker only seems to come when it is raining, but if yours is an adult it is probably feeding a youngster and wanting grubs and soft stuff. I am sure it will be back for the 'hard stuff' later perhaps with a youngster in tow.
Your greenhouse sounds just the ticket. I daren't have one as wreckers on the railway can do a lot of damage and anyway I haven't the patience for serious gardening, I prefer to see what the wildlife and Mother Nature bring me. Been gardening today and quite pleased with what has arrived in all the rain and sun

Is this the new 'home for the bewildered'? If so, I've found my way in at last.
If anyone is short of the odd (and I do mean odd) pepper plant, I currently have 31 of the little blighters in my kitchen window ledge. I only used one pepper to use in a salad and in a moment of madness, plonked the seeds in compost. Lo and behold they bred like rabbits.
Back later. Not sure how long this run of good luck with the puter will last.

Hi Scorp & WS, Scorp, now i have my sort of greenhouse up and running everything is growing like crazy! I have peppers and chillies galore
I have a great recipe for a pepper, red onion and tomato relish
On Monday,i managed to get out to Blashford lakes, but as soon as i got there it persisted down,i occupied a happy hour in the woodland hide until a party of schoolchildren came to join me Today i had better luck with the weather and i went to Stanpit Marshes. I actually heard and saw a cuckoo,as my camera was still in the bag,i was too late for a picture. The Sand Martins are arriving in their hundreds,so are the whitethroat and Wheatear,so,it must be summer I put a few pictures up.
Some time ago,i taught Harry the word Pine cone, Sarah says i must pop in after work tomorrow,Harry has collected about 50 of the things and won't be parted from them,he says they are for Nanny and we have to count them. He counts them every day, just to make sure none have gone missing. Sarah is planning to strangle me because of his obsession with them.I told her to be grateful it was just pine cones,it could have been rabbit droppings!!
As it is still nice here,i am off for an evening saunter

Oh, bless him, that is so funny. There are many, many worse things he could (and probably will) be obsessed with in the future.
Tuesday here saw wind, rain, snow, hail, thunder and lightning but today has been lovely though still a bit chilly.
A cuckoo I haven't heard one year for several years

Well, here i am a granny again My son that has spent all his adult life in the army, did not want children until he retired. He promised he would get on with it as soon as he came out, true to his word Archie was born yesterday afternoon So now there are five birthdays to remember!
Ws, as for the cuckoo,i often hear them at Stanpit, but rarely see one. I think they are partial to Reed Warblers nests and at Stanpit there are loads of them.
I called in at Sarah's to count the pine cones with Harry, there were fifty four He put them in rows and counted them all. At his age,i could just about count up to ten I said i did not want to count pine cones anymore,i preferred to count money, the next thing,he has tipped the contents of his huge money box all over the floor and started to count it all up, What have i started now? Sarah was none too pleased so i scarpered
We are back to drizzle and grey skies here,i bet all those birds that are flying in from Africa wished they had stayed put

Congratulations Bluesue Hope al is well with the little one and his Mum
Hm! You certainly know how to get young Harry going - another obsession now, Dear Oh Dear Fifty four cones, and he can count them all? Amazing!
It's has been damp and grey most of the day with the odd glimmer of sunshine and a bit of humidity and the rest of the week/end doesn't look much better.
No sign of any visitors from Africa yet but I will keep my eyes open. I can't remember when they first appeared in previous years. Perhaps I will look at my records when I get a minute.

Thanks for the I did not mention the pregnancy before,i am superstitious and until the baby arrived safe and sound,i did not want to chance my luck,or theirs for that matter My son is a proper mans man and a son is what he really wanted. I expect the poor child will be subjected to being dragged up mountains and abseiling back down again, surfing and snow boarding, not to mention trekking through jungles and deserts, this is how my son and his wife usually spend their holidays I,on the other hand, prefer a saunter on the beach and a nice cosy pub with good food
Work this weekend should be fun (not) I have a new kitchen assistant,he will not know what he is doing or who anyone is,so i will have to show him the ropes, this puts a strain on me as i can't get on with what I am supposed to be doing, still, i will soon knock him into shape, probably literally
Weather, grey and boring Where is summer?

Sad news about the boat down there Sue and the weather looked atrocious at Weymouth early this evening.
Perhaps the new skivvy will surprise you If not you will no doubt give him something to think about
Hope all goes well,

Forgot to say I am superstitious too after losing my first. I am always glad when it is all over for anyone.
Sounds like the little one is in for a fun time < I am sure he will have R & R with Granny from time to time.

Just got back from a couple of days in the North East; where we visited Beamish Museum http://www.beamish.org.uk/areas-of-beamish/
A great day out and well worth a visit. I actually persuaded SS to make use of the free wheelchair, which meant that I got in free - a saving of £13.
We stayed in Hartlepool through one of those S** breaks for £30 and it was wonderful. However, I/we are now absolutely cream crackered.
Back later - snaps to follow
on the safe arrival of Archie.

So glad you had a good break Scorp, the museum looked very interesting, like WS, looking forward to some piccies.
Today started off with the usual grey miserable skies, it was just as well,as i had to visit Octavia,i spent an hour listening to her moaning and groaning, then scarpered. She lives in 5* luxury but still complains!
This afternoon the weather has cleared up and it is supposed to be nice tomorrow. I intend to take myself off somewhere and just be on my own. The New Forest is what i have in mind, there should be some new arrivals, ponies and deer I need a break from all the daily grind.

Hi Scorp, yes you can get me here, this is where i shall be ing.
I am glad you got back safe and sound WS,typically, the weather is lovely again,a bit breezy but SUNSHINE i had forgotten what it felt and looked like.
I put four pictures up of the seagulls at Lyme,i like them because they remind me of our lunch together and they made me laugh.I put a sort of running commentary with them. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sue980/
WS. i posted the tokens and form you wanted, they should be with you soon.
Last nights Countrywise featured the Isle of Purbeck, Arne,Corfe Castle and Studland,if either of you missed it,try and watch it on catch up or the i player.
If it stays nice i am going to Blashford lakes tomorrow
