I bought a rainbow badge thing. Y'know. A little pin badge with the rainbow on it and "I don't even think straight" underneath.
Perhaps I'm creating controversy by wearing a badge that says I'm lesbian while simultaneously having a long-term boyfriend.
*will wear it at school to promote gay rights... and to see if she can get people at school to stop using the word "gay" as an insult*
God. That really p***es me off. I hate homophobes.

Glad to hear someone like minded talking about the misuse of the word gay as an insult or expletive. I've been trying to get people to see sense on this one, but there's no reasoning. The only people I've found who agree are people on h2g2 who don't use it anyway...
Keep up the good work!

Yeah!
I once heard one of them say, "We only call you gay because you're not gay. If you were gay, we wouldn't call you gay."
Right...

Cupid Stunt Posted Mar 9, 2002
That just clears everything up doesn't it?
I remember once being accused of trying to offend someone when I asked them not to use gay as an insult...
There's something very wrong with the world...

Very. *nods*
Today was the third day of wearing the badge. And.. uh.. Only a handful of people have bothered to look close enough to see what it says, and they were all my friends and therefore most of them don't use the word gay as a derogatory (sp?) term.
But now I've explained to them what my cause is, they have started using it more around me just to aggravate me. But I know that's their reason, so I don't mind too much. I just slap them for every time they say it; my friend Max now has a permanent red hand-shaped area on his left cheek. *snigger*
Anyway, next Tuesday is non-uniform day, so I am going to print off the logo onto a badge, and something stating my cause, iron them onto white material, and stick the white material onto a t-shirt with duct tape. That'll show them.

I go with the black look tactic. I'm not very good at it, but still...
Any idea what the bat in the term batty boy is supposed to represent? Just something that sruck me as strange the other day.
Keep up the good work. You know who owns the copyright on the badge?

Lisa the Freak // Poet by the Toga Posted Mar 18, 2002
I did the black look thing for a year, before I realised it doesn't really suit me.
I thought batty was supposed to mean... y' know.. (...v***a)
But I may be wrong.
No...

Cupid Stunt Posted Mar 22, 2002
Hmmm. That might not be what it's refering to. Or it might. Who knows the logic behind it.
I'm not sure the black looking suits my sunny disposition, but it gets more results and fewer beatings than others I've tried.
You can't copyright a joke can you?
What I did today
Lisa the Freak // Poet by the Toga Posted Mar 23, 2002
Why do you ask?
I think my clothes suit my disposition - in the eyes of most people I know at school, I am part of too many categories. I think most of the people think I am lesbian, not a virgin, a drug-addict (or recovering/recovered drug-addict), a slut... *smirk*
They put a post-it note on someone that said "I'm a raving homo" so I stole it and wore it with pride. That confused them!
Mmmmm, probably. You can probably copyright anything these days. Nevermind, eh.............................

I'm not sure who misunderstood what here. By black look I meant looking at people blackly, nothing to do clothes. Unless you realised this, and I missed your point (very likely). On the subject of clothes, I do dress colourfully. Reds and oranges mostly. Dunno what categories I fell into, but I hope I'm someone who's impossible to pigeon hole.

Hi,
I am also a bisexual woman with a long term boyfriend. It confuses me, so I'm not surprised that the rest of the world finds it a bit confusing.
Makes 'visibility' a bit of a problem, though, since as soon as people know you have a boyfriend, they assume you're straight. So I think your badge is great!

Ah! outnumbered two to one
Poet, your not dumb, that was a bit of an ambiguous statement. I must admit I can't see the two are related. What I meant was like Paddington Bears hard stare. (What a child - he he!)

i seem to hold a fear about those of M2M2. I wish to express that I shall do my best to find something sharp and poke it 'till it goes away, hmmm? I know kids at school who act gay, in order to mock everyone. They deserve resentment. Those are the sort that makes mankind look like a trashpile.

I guess poking it with a sharp object is one way Whatever works for you. The forums around here seem to be reverting to their former tumbleweed-blowing-past-from-lack-of-conversation again... Erk...

Work, more work, and the fact that the only time I can get online is at work as the management co of the appartment block I am in in Brussels cut off the phone because I kept disputing the telephone bill.
Badges are good, so are t-shirt slogans.
I have seen the "I don't even think straight" one on a t-shirt,
Also liked the following ones
"Do you like casual sex?
Or should I dress up"
and seen on a rather large chested young woman in London
"I wish these were brains"
Poet etc.
Cupid Stunt Posted Jun 29, 2002
Work is my excuse as well... Still, I can be as lazy as I like until september!
You're off the hook
Love the casual sex one! Still chuckling.
My favourite T-Shirt is one I picked up on holiday two years ago. It has 'MAKE 7' on the front and 'UP YOURS' on the back. It's very funny if people see me from behind.
There's another one lurking mockingly in the back of my mind...
