Morning
I'm gr8 thanks hun. My boys broke up from school on Thursday so it's all a bit hectic here....they don't understand the concept of a "lie in"
Was a quiete w/end for me, had my one sis over on Saturday, she's asked to take my eldest to Florida next year....lucky beggar . Have one of my nieces staying with me for the week...whopeeeee adult company!!!
So what did you do the w/end that was so hectic??
I come here daily....you'll find me wandering round...usually kissing strangers ...but it's all in good fun

Hey there,
glad to hear you are well.
I pulled into your space for a little lurk earlier and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great space!!
Your boys sound like quit a handful, i am sure they must bring an awful lot of joy into your life.
Where is their dad then that you are looking forward to your niece coming for adult company. Nosy hey?...
The weekend was all parties, braais, and sport with my nephews, too much wine and not enough sleep..... a good one though. All the same i will be happy to have a quieter one this week.
Dammit man!!!...i though it was only me that you kissed....lol....i'm devestated, my ego is shot to ribbons...in tatters...trodden on and ground into the dust....
(dammit man would be how i would say it irl....for the benefit of absolute clarity let me say...dammit girl)...no offence meant.

glad u liked my space
My s oooops mean boys are hard work, but they're worth it...they're just typical lads, fighting and occasionally getting along with each other
Their dad...well....erm...lol...he left just over 2yrs ago for someone else, still has contact with the boys every other w/end and he's having them from this Thursday till Sunday and we're amicable enough so thats good for the lads
for your ego lol....but thats todays quota used up!!
So are you still in London?? what are you doing with yourself....apart from partying and over indulging??

I have basically taken a year off i suppose you could say, a whole load of reasons really. In a nutshell i wanted to spend some time with my nephews and niece before they are all grown up, they all came to visit me a couple of years ago and it was the first time i had ever seen them ( they are 16,13,9), as well as the first time i had seen my sister for 14 years. Additionally it is my parents 50th anniversary later this year. so i figured that two weeks or a month was just not going to cut it.
Although the social scene is pretty hectic i am only going with the flow, my main focus outside of the family is to study.
So i am doing three courses,Feature writing, journalism, and Creative writing as well as some computer studies at college which should get me some City and guilds, not that i particularly want the accolades, just the knowledge. the intention is also to get to grips with one or two languages, but i have not got that going yet and finally i wanted to learn touch typing which i am struggling with....my fingers are just not having it...lol
So where are you?...sorry to of pryed earlier. It must be tough though with three kids on your own. although i am thoroughly enjoying my time with the kids i have learnt very quickly how hard it can be.

So what made you go out to Africa in the first place and are you hoping to go back out there once you've finished studying??
I started my work life in the local Newspaper offices...Birmingham Post & Evening Mail...worked in editorial for a few years, loved it, not in a journalist role, purely secretarial but have many fond memories "gloats" and I can touch type...tee hee ..seriously, keep going with it, you pick it up after a while honestly!!
My mom and dad managed 46yrs together and I thought that was some going lol...have you a HUGE party planned for them??
Yeah it's hard with the boys sometimes, but I had them so its up to me, plus I've got a gr8 best friend who lives opposite me and my eldest sister (I'm youngest of 5 girls and 3 boys) adores the boys and takes them when she can. Also got 19 nieces and nephew and 2 gr8 nieces ranging from 1 to 32 and 2 of my nieces are gr8 with the boys.....in fact the niece thats here with me is coming to have the boys so I can go to this years Reading Festival on the Friday ....and no need for apologies for asking
Me...I'm in sunny Brum (Birmingham)...it's not much but it's home and I the place

my family is very small apart from the fact that i have not really been part of the family at all.I have often thought how brilliant it must be to be part of one, i think it is very cool that you can enjoy so many relatives....must be murder at christmas and birthdays...lol
As for Africa, i am here with an open mind. I have a couple of acres out there but i am delaying building at the mo to see what happens.... a few scary things going on when it come sto making real investments.
what is the Reading festival...i guess i have been away for too long.

Don't really have that much to do with the majority of my family......am especially close to my eldest sister though, we speak on the phone lots and she comes over on the w/ends the boys are here...
Got one brother in Germany, another in Buckingham and a sister in Wales so don't really see that much of them, although my brother is coming over from Germany next month for a holiday
Do you think you could settle over here though given that you've obviously spent so much time out in Africa...it must be a huge culture change and the weather!!! lol
Reading Festival is a rock festival, weekend of live bands etc...going on the Friday to see Linkin Park, Blink 182, Bowling for Soup and Placebo...can't wait, never done a festival before, just didn't have the opportunity, so am well excited about it

Funny that , most people i speak to from big families say the same kind of thing.
Not sure about anything right now Elsa, except what i am doing. i will have to see how it all pans out.Obviously it is going to get harder when the weather changes...i shall have to see.
I have never heard of any of those bands you mentioned , except perhaps linkin Park. Hope you have a blinder, are you there for the duration?

There's just so many of us, it's hard to keep in touch all the time...plus I've always kinda been the black sheep, I think some of them have a hard time understanding me lol
Am only going to Reading for the Friday, there were no w/end tickets left, plus my m8 who I'm going with has got work on the Saturday so we've got to come back on the same night......but that was solved when her hubby offered to take and pick us up. All I got to worry about now is what I'm gonna do with my hair lol

I know a bit about being the 'black sheep'....lol.
So what is wrong with your hair that you need to do something with it....or is that a female thing (no sexism meant).
Sounds like friday is really going to be a big day for you, not to mention a long one. What time do you have to leave in the morning to get there....mind you , i suppose that you are probably only an hour or two away.

Good Morning
I guess the main problem is the age gap between me and my sisters in particular. My 4 sisters came first then my 3 brothers and then me at the end lol......there's a 12/13yr gap between me and the youngest of the girls. I guess thats why I get on so well with the eldest, she's like my second mom with 17yrs between us.
They've always struggled to understand why I'm the way I am...all punky and different lol.....but my eldest thinks I'm ok and she's given me the most fantastic support the past couple of years.
I went all "normal" and conventional just after I met the boys dad and it was ok at first, I kinda settled into the role of "partner/mum" quite well, but in the process I "lost" myself and with the problems that developed during the last 3yrs together I became really unhappy with myself. After the split I spent 12months in a kind of "limbo", not sure what to do with myself etc.....but then I've, you might say, "re-invented/found" myself again and gone back to my "punky" roots lol......cpl of the girls thought I was going "off the rails" and suggested I needed to take more responsibility...but through it all my eldest sis just supported me and encouraged me to be myself....and I like myself now, which is good for me and good for the boys
Me hair ...well it's never the same colour for very long lol, past 12mths it's been red/white/pink/purple/blue and I want something different for Reading.....which is 22nd August, kinda gave the impression it was this Friday by mistake , I've kinda settled on the idea of LOTS of little ponytails but beaded at the bottom...gonna pick the beads up tomorrow
So why are you the "black sheep" then hun??
Soz for the essay...just in a chatty mood this morning

Morning Elsa,
Thats a nice long posting. You are clearly a very 'colourful' and interesting person and i am very glad that you called to say hi to me.
Why am i the black sheep...hard to say ....even harder to say without slating my folks which i don't want to do. Maybe i am just differant too.
However i am happy to say that i do get on with my sister which is great and gives me a chance to try and build some bridges....which i have been trying to do over the last few years or so. Battling badly in some areas and going well in others. The ones i am struggling with ...are, in my humble opinion, very flaky and are liable to get the 'final finger' just now and that will be it. Not what i want, but i am not one for banging my head against a brick wall for too long and have no time whatsoever for bullshit.
I was never into punk myself as a fashion, although in reality i was as radical a reb as any of them. Maybe i should of been one, i would of probably found more folk on the same wavelength as myself.
I found myself when i got lost in the bush.
Wildlife photography is a passion of mine and i just love being there. I have a piece of land near Joburg which i was going to build on this year, however if things work out differantly i will sell it and build or buy a small lodge in the bush somewhere where i can go to do my writings.
I am born and bred in the city so if i could get a good balance between the two....like 7/8 months there and the rest in london i would be quite happy i think.
Not sure if i will ever 'settle down' so to speak, i have tried but i don't seem to be very good at it.
Whatever, i am into what i am doing at present and feel that it is worthwhile so as i said i will see how things pan out.
Hmmm...i am waffling...lol. Let me be off before i bore the pants off you....( now theres a thought....lol....sorry, i havn't really got a one track mind...lmao)....( i'm thinking that maybe i should erase that....but what the hell...it's only a bit of fun hey?) I'll post it before i think again....lol...NT

"Hi hunni, I'm home..."
Bore the pants off me!!!...... not possible today sweetie, I'm "commando".....lmao
I used to get "compared" to my elder sisters, you know the thing "oh why can't you be more like...blah blah" so I guess I've always just felt a little inferior to the others and like I don't quite meet their standards lol
Being a city person and never having travelled, I can only imagine how fantastic it must be to see the animals in their natural surroundings...bet you have some wonderful photos
Persevere with buildng bridges with your sis but as you say, if you get to a point that you're banging your head then if nothing else you can say you tried
So what plans have you for this w/end.......frantic partying and consuming of large amounts of perhaps??
xxElsaxx
