Now that's the most logical reason I've seen yet. With that thought in mind, there's no way it could be the answer! One must not allow logic to interfere with one's pursuit of truth. If this happens, all will be lost!!!!

I notice it's not on the busiest forums anymore yet it seems to be a hive of activity.

Perhaps h2g2 is working not slightly in the past, but slightly in the future. It had a premonition that this site will be the most visited site, thereby being a self fulfilling prophesy.

An interesting theory. I shall test it out on my boss by telling him that I am not at h2g2 now. I am in fact working and the h2g2 stuff is all happening in the future when I'll be at home.

I wonder if monshari will let me by with that on the yard work? It's definitely worth a try!

Better yet, maybe I could use it on my flat mates, and tell them that my room is just avoiding the inevitable and so wants to stay messy all the time.

He would probably have said one of two things.
1)You are sexually repressed and need to get out more.
2)You have a bit of a twisted mind there young man and need to get out more.

The latter sounds preferable - but the whole point my room is messy in the first place is because I'm always out, with no time for tidying it up. So, how do I get out more?

I have the same problem too. I am never home to get time to tidy my room. And on the weekends I am spending all my time washing my clothes and catching up with friends to have time to clean my room.

You saying I should jsty stay at home and hide in my room? God, my room is messy enough just me sleeping in it.

Boooo. I'm living with my parents again for the holiday so I have to tidy my room. That's bad.
But they've gone to America until July. WooHoo!! Big party round my place.
That's good.
