don't you know that once acid gets on your brain there is no guarantee that it will ever go away? If you want to "expand your mind" take a short course and if you want "abstract thoughts" try understanding what DNA has to say about parallel universes in Mostly Harmless. Prove that 1=2. Don't take drugs that are going to give you flashbacks for the rest of your life. My dad hasn't taken acid since the seventies and guess what? He STILL gets the odd mild flashback! Anyone can be trained to think abstractly for the extra 10% that you seem to think this will raise your IQ. (and so will baroque music btw, a lot more safely!) I didn't bother reading the entire "trip log" - you don't see me boring you with dissertations into compare and contrast Bach's allemande from the french Suite in C minor and Liszt's third consolation, which makes me just as happy and I remember it more clearly. What kind of logic is THAT? You can't judge until you try??????? Isn't that what other people's experiences are for??? Isn't that the whole purpose of this guide? To use other people's experience to see if and how you want to try something? I haven't tried cobra poison myself, but judging from other people's experience I wouldn't want to try it! From other people I know that LSD can give you wonderfull trips, or sometimes horrible ones, and that it can come back to haunt you at the most incovenient moments. From other people's experiences I have reached the conclusion that LSD is something that I personally don't want to try ... there are other less permanent ways to get the same trip, like ritual trance for example.

Sometimes you have to change your perspectives of the real world, in order to change the real world its self!

Acid. illegal drugs in general. interesting issue. If you don't want to take them, then don't. If you do want to take them, still don't because they're illegal. There's no reason to take acid so that you know what it's like, that's why you ask other people. That said, it's probably worth asking more than one or two people to get a slightly more rounded answer. I have been in two car crashes, I hate cars, I can't drive - I'm probably not the only person you should ask about whether cars are a good idea or not. There are many people who feel that they learn a lot from taking acid, people who believe that it does "open their mind" and teach them things that they could not have learnt without the drug. From my experience these people should not be totally ignored. The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix took acid and it may even have helped their music. The followers of Charles Manson took acid and it may have aided them to commit serial murder. All I'm saying is that there are two sides to every coin.

I feel it important to point out that the kind of acid you get these days is a lot weaker than the kind peoples dad's where taking in the old days. Flash backs 10 years later from taking acid a few times is now highly unlightly.

Drug use can be interesting and fun, possibly even mind expanding (experience expanding is probably a better term as drugs, legal or not, do rot your brain). Drug abuse is something different altogether.

Nobody can tell you what it's like to experience the altered perceptions bought on by drugs. The experience is different for every one. It's important to realise what kind of person you are before experimenting with drugs. If your the kind of person who does everything to exess, or your nurotic, paranoid, depressed or just feeling emotionally unstable, drugs are not for you. If your not in control of the drug, it will control you...

It is also important to point out that a drug won't change the way you feel. it will only enhance the experience you are all ready having, so enviroment, friends and how healthy you are in body and mind before you take the drug are all important.

Finally, the pay off. People don't often talk about the 'come down' from acid and other drugs. Like many drugs acid stimulates the pleasure sensors of the brain. When the trip wears off there is a chemical imbalance in the brain which leaves you feeling deppresed and lonley. This just doesn't even compare to a hangover.

My experiances on acid where all good, but eventually I decided that the pay off wasn't worth the high. I have given up all class A drugs for the same reason, I guess I've just grown out of that scene. However I don't regret my experiences and I do think that spendig time off my tits has allowed me a greater realisation of what it's possible to achive whilst sober!

In conclusion I feel that whilst we are all only garenteed to be here the once, it is up to the individuall to decide how they will live there life. Just remember that there is no pill, powder, drink or leaf that will change your life, you have to do this yourself, the hard way!

I feel encouraged to throw a couple of cents into the pot. I mean, you know , to contibute something from my perspective. One thing that LSD and other halucinagins(sp) do is remove the ego from the scene. Cosmic consciousness elbows its infinite girth to the table.

Just an addendum to the above.
You'll notice that the first post doesn't have an exclamation point after the "onelove" while the second posting did. For some reason that was very important.
