I really enjoyed "WHAT'S BRED IN THE BONE" BY Robertson Davies. You can tell that the late Canadian writer loved to write. The reader is not distracted by mannerism or egotism. The story was far more important. Here was a storyteller who really enjoyed his job, and was good at it. I am also going to invite all readers to my page, and to check out my own website. Thank you all.

If you enjoyed bred in the bone then I recommend the deptford trilogy.
The first two books are canadian treasures while the third is ok, not great, but worth the read just to tie
the first two book together.

Every time I read about the Deptford Trilogy, I get confused with a book I read years ago called the Deptford Mice Trilogy - about mice obviously. I think Robin Jarvis wrote it. I enjoyed it then, but I haven't read it since (seeing as the final book got soaked in a leak and had to go in the bin - nearly broke my heart throwing a book in the bin )
Anyway, that was a complete side issue. I'm just gossiping really. And introducing myself.
