A Conversation for The Irving Washington BooK NooK

I was looking around h2g2 for somewhere to have a conversation when I noticed this page. I see that no-one's posted any comments to it for over a month, so perhaps I've chosen badly, but still -- who knows?
My favourite living writer in English is Philip Roth. I'd be really interested in talking to anyone who has read him, whether or not they enjoyed the experience. Many people consider 'The Shylock Affair' to be a tad self-indulgent, but it's probably given me to think about regarding the Arab-Israeli conflict than anything else I've come across, fictional or otherwise. And, from my admittedly transatlantic perspective at least, 'The Human Stain' seems a very apposite comment on racial politics in the US.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
