h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Given how few ACEs are able to work at the moment, I've put out a rallying call on Ask at F19585?thread=8140513. We've had four new sign ups, and I've visited each one to give them an overview of what we're doing.

Peanut has been thinking about it and will get back to us if she decides she wants to.

It's take them a short while to write their messages and get to grips with the process, but hopefully they will be valuable additions to the ACE squad.

I've emailed the eds so that they can make it official. Much as we need new aces, we can't just have them start aceing without having the badge.

Firstly really great work there Vip! (And thanks too Bel for keeping an eye on this.) OK, I've sent an official invitation to join the ACEs gropu on Yahoo! to MMF, Magwitch, Solnushka and Deadangel. Once they've accepted the invitation and can see the Yahoo! Aces group I will add an ACEs badge to each user's page.

That was my initial thought, but having had a few conversations with M a n he is very switched on, has conversations in a lot of places around h2g2, and even (politely) corrected some of the formatting errors in my ACE welcome message. He also lurked for a long time before he joined.

He still hasn't come back to confirm and I'll wait until I've had a bit more of a chat with him first, but I think think this particular newbie can actually do the job, despite his newness.
