Dear friends, in the light of decreasingly visible involvement with my topics lately, I'd like to sort out who wants to remain my ('official') friend and who doesn't. There's nothing wrong with lurking on our threads instead of contributing - that's not my point Lurkers can lurk to their heart's content.

Their's nothing wrong with unsubbing from here either, if that's what you want.

Maybe I'm getting too boring and ought to unsub myself.

But I'm trying to sort out my list of friends, so please can each of you let me know?

Some may have left h2g2 of course.

Please let me know. A short message, preferably not malicious or obscene, will do.

If I don't hear from you, I'll assume, ceteris paribus (threw that in to impress you!) you want to cancel your subscription.

Funny you doing that, I've just been through my list today as a result of a comment earlier in the day when I said, to quote,@I only have the best in my list', {said to Lil in gnomons thread}.

Needless to say you are still on my list and I certainly would like to remain on yours. I do follow where you post and who to and enjoyed your poetry threads immensley. I'm useless at writing poetry but I enjoy reading it and there are some crackers in your poetry thread.

I did e-mail you a while back however not sure if I still have the right addy as it bounced twice. I'll try again later, if it fails again I'll let you know. I recall you saying a while back you had had some probs. with mail.

Well; since i've been awake all night & yours was the first thread i zoomed in on, i guess that means i'd really rather not be chucked in the bin please!

We all go through ups & downs in RL & online & pruning out is necessary, sometimes you can end up with too many "acquaintances" but not enough "fiends".

Please, sir, don't cancel my subscription . The renewal check is in the mall--er, mail. Oh, all right, I'm *way* behind in my correspondence, and it hasn't even been sent yet; King John is *still* waiting for my congratulation letter on his signing of the Magna Carta.

Ceteribus paribus either means other things being equal, or else it refers to paring celery to put in the stuffing that we Yanks put in our turkeys. You *know* which meaning I prefer to embrace right now

I put in ceteris paribus (I prefer Paul's second meaning although I meant the first - all things being equal, in other words I know that some people may have good reason not to respond so I wouldn't cut them out - so they're not 'equal' in the meaning of the Act). It's really about pruning my list, there'll be no cutting out of good friends (you lot) here.

Good point about Thanksgiving JEllen. You've just reminded me about the NFL on TV over here. But I'm not holding a gun to anybody's head demanding they respond NOW - except the Prof's head perhaps - only because my need for being kept just about sane is urgent.

I'm so pleased to get messages from some old friends I haven't seen for a while - GA, CD, ST, Terri, Lew, pheloxi and lil - as well as those I'm still in touch with regularly (or just recently in the case of Vix). ST - I think l3ctur3r-42 at the yahoo dot and then co with a dot and uk would be a pretty good mail address, yes? Look forward to your e/m. Any probs, let me know. I hope you're well.
