Don't put foil-wrapped Moriarty in the microwave or sparks will fly.

Why dces just about every thread in this place start as tragedy and end in farce, (to slightly misquote Karl Marx)?

My favorite Christmas poem is "Christ climbed down out of his bare tree."

How did Coney Island get in my mind? smiley - erm

Christ climbed down
from His bare Tree
this year
and ran away to where
there were no rootless Christmas trees
hung with candycanes and breakable stars

Can't see Jesus running away to anywhere, tbh. I take the point about our fake Christmases though - that part was nicely, economically put, Mr.F.

That's just the first verse of many.

I just think it's a poem that everyone ought to read or hear at least once in a lifetime. Ferlinghetti was one of the beat poets...

I usually visit the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park when I visit San Francisco. It's the least I can do while I wait for the big earthquake that cuts off the California coast and moves it out into the pacific. smiley - biggrin

This old earthquake's gonna leave me in the poorhouse
It seems like this whole town's insane
On the thirty-first floor a gold-plated door
Won't keep out the Lord's burning rain
(Gram Parsons)

They've been waiting for the BIG one for AGES - and singing about it since the 60's! smiley - laugh
