OY. Ok, more than the election has me on edge... It must be November, when, according to numerology, I'll be all upset again. Meh.
I'm in a weird state of mind/heart. I don't want to do ANYTHING related to school. I just want a nap.
(Ok, that's not the extent of it. I want some things to change, and I'll see what I can do in the next days/months... maybe even hours.... except I'm bus bound, and yeah... that has me on edge too. I mean!!! I could be getting things done that require spending money-- I left my money at home this morning!!!)

Maybe it's Mercury Retrograde, Dragonfly. Things get all topsy-turvy when that happens.
I'd like a nap, too, preferably somewhere far from political coverage
John Kerry isn't going to like what Congress does to his health plan proposals if he gets elected. Bush isn't going to have a lot of leeway either. More gridlock. Neither man can get us out of Iraq without a lot more bloodshed and grief.
At best, the winner of the election will have a mandate, unlike 2000 when the Supreme Court had to break the tie. Bush has had to endure four years of being accused of being unelected. That would be unfair no matter who won. Elections are supposed to settle things, not make them more unsettled.

Pauly
Nah... Mercury isn't in retrograde. That's what happened with the 2000 elections.
The moon is in Cancer, a very self-protective sign, today.
Apparently the electoral vote will be very strong... I WANT TO KNOW NOW!!! NOW NOW NOW!!! Come on!!! It's 5 pm on the east coast!!!! COME ON!!!
Yeah... unsettled... that's the word!!! That's me today!!!
Wot-eva.

Seems close, listening to about the electrion on the news in the UK covering it, I don't claim to understand the American political system (heck I barely undersand the UK system!) But it certianly seems rather close again this time When will the final result come in?

In... Eh.... four or five hours or maybe two more weeks....
Something like that!!!

It's soooo ing historical... Almost all of the students in my American Civilization class raised their hands when asked if they have voted. MOST of those kids are first-time voters, this being the first time they CAN vote.
WOW.
My parents voted for one candidate. I voted for another. My mother was very unsure of her choice; I wasn't thrilled with mine... we shall see.
Man, 2legs, I wish I could go to the London Meet!!!

Would be cool if you could come to the meet! Yeh, I'm going to have a real dilema when it comes to voting in the next UK election, I know who I don't* want to vote for, but not who I do, the other candiates seem so.... awful.... perhaps one will start seeming less awful than the others

Hopefully, hopefully...
I can't come to the meet, love. Gotta w*rk my butt off in order to get the full benefits of w*rking for the same m*n for four years. It'd be stupid of me not to. All I have to do is w*rk forty hours for ten weeks starting two weeks from now...
Then, I can probably drop a day or two a week... unless I have rent to pay... or something...

::sings:: Don't it always seem to go
that you don't know what you got til it's gone!!!
Dude... Bushie has three states; Kerry has Vermont... Still early in the game...
I wish I had some alcohol... what a great drinking game!!! ... a shot of vodka for every state Kerry gets... and HERRRRRMMMMM.... a sip of wine for every state Bush gets!??

Vodka and wine...I don't care who you support, that's funny.
Just remember what I've been reminding everyone today, Dragonfly: whoever wins will not kill you.
I initially meant it as a joke at 8:00 this morning, but I've found that it's actually had a fairly calming affect on whoever I tell it to. The worst reaction was merely someone turning their hostile mood into a joking one ("Bush'll kill me. I just know it. With a chainsaw.")
And, like my name, my vote is a secret that can probably be discerned through careful observations.

Oh bloody hell... Kerry conceded!
Get the alcohol out Dragonfly!
I was one of those who didn't feel good about my vote either. I voted for Kerry, but that decision wasn't made until the last couple of days before I voted. It was a b**ch trying to figure out who was the "lessor of two evils".
I agree with what Ralph Nadar said last night though:
"Bush is just a big corporation in a suit, and we don't need corporate American running the Whitehouse."
But I also didn't like the fact that Kerry seemed to be telling everyone what they "wanted" to hear and not necessarily taking a stand.
Oh well, at least we know what we've got with Bush... decisivativeness! (or some other "Bush" word creation... )

And by the way Paulie, Mercury goes retrograde on November 30th and lasts until December 19... so give everyone your Christmas list early!

Thanks for the tip, Michele.
Between the Red Sox winning the World Series and John Kerry winning the White House, there is no contest. The World Series is *way* more important to me.
