The law of urgency

Post 1

Zebedee (still Pool God after all these years)

When you're up early, loads of time to get to work, three buses pass you on your way to the station. When you really, really need that bus to make your train...........

Same as toilets, surrounded by them until the urge takes control then is there a bog anywhere to be seen.....not on your nelly pal! If it looks like your luck is in and you spy a ladies in the distance, when you get there it has been vomited on (bits of carrot, corn and stomach lining), and the loo paper is wet ....yeech!

Surely this is only a special case of Murphy's Law, sometimes credited to his pupil Sod.

Another case is the Law of Mutual Approach (somebody think of a better name): two cars approaching each other in opposite directions will meet where there is an obstruction, no matter how much their drivers have tried to speed up or slow down to avoid it (there is a Law of Unintended Causality through Attempts to Compensate struggling to emerge here).

It works for people approaching each other in long office corridors, too. Where are the fire doors? Just where you don't want them.

Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me!

Imagine doing some DIY car mechanics (no doubt a guide entry in itself) and all is going smoothly until the bit when your hands are totally crusted with thick goo. This is the point at which the sun disappears behind a cloud and you start to feel a bit chilly. (As in cold - not to be confused with a spicy meal or South American country). What happens next........you need a Pee! You need to wash your hands, but the sound of running water exacerbates your urgent need for a Pee!
