Is it just me or does the M1 minibus crash verdict seem crazy? The East European lorry driver realized he was drunk, stopped his vehicle and put on hazard lights. True he could have pulled onto the hard shoulder but may not have been in a state to do that or realized that was what you did in the UK as a matter of course. Sending him to prison is like blaming the anvil for the hammer squashing a fly on its surface. The other lorry driver, who put his vehicle on cruise control was guilty of driving without due care and attention
