*this is where the League council will meet to discus important issues affecting the League*

Knowledge is power! (I'm feeling quite powerless!)

What happens if our league becomes overwhelmed with heros?

We can't all be heros!

it is the members choice whether they are a hero or an anti-hero (villain). anyway it doesn't really matter who's bad and who's good because most of us en up fighting each other for one reason or another.

UnfadingAscendant - Above the ashes

This is just a random idea but once it got into my head it wouldn't go away.

What does everyone think about a 'City' type area, somewhere where heros can rescue small kittens from trees and villians can plot to blow things up?

It just seems to me that all we've got at the minute is the Headquarters and there's only so much that can be done there without going completely stir-crazy

where you thinking of a new thread or a new page entirely? it's a good idea, i'm just trying to think of how it would work.

the original idea i suppose was to have this as the headquarters where members could hang out in the off 'duty period' of heroing.

I'm not entirely sure how it would work but I suppose I was thinking along the lines of a new page.

What I thought was that if I mentioned it here we could discuss it and decide what would work best

Surely a City area should be a thread just like The Garden and The Arena rather than a new page....we couldn't interact at a new page.

I'm not sure how it would work wnyway, I just felt it was worth mentioning

it is an idea worth discussing.

there's no reason why we couldn't have a city area. it could have threads for different areas of the city and we could link it to the main page. it wouldn't be too impossible, however, i think it's better to have it as a thread if we're going to have it at all because a whole page dedicated to it wouldn't get much overall use.

UnfadingAscendant - Above the ashes

Ok, I'll start a City thread on the main page and we'll see if it gets enough use to deserve anything more done to it. How does that sound?

The Council Room

sound good. i'll add a link to it right away.

"off duty period"? A true hero is always on duty!

*arrives from the city.*

now, there have been comments about the number of hero's in relation to the number of villains in this society, and although even numbers would be desirable people taking on second identities to boost numbers would just be downright confusing. i have an idea which may be able to solve this problem. Inactive characters.

By inactive characters I mean characters who are included within the antics of the League members but who are controlled by an already existing member of the League. an example is the nemesis of Prof.Chaos, Tar-and-Feathers Boy. He doesn't exist here as yet, but if Chaos wants to bring him in as an inactive character then he can be included. Tar-and Feathers Boy and any other inactive characters that come our way can be listed with a little description of who they are and who controls them on the main page.

Now, if anyone doesn't get what the sam-hill i'm talking about, then here's an example of how it might work.

Prof. Chaos (PC) is wandering around the city and he comes across Tar-and-Feathers Boy (TFB). instead of someone else controlling TFB, PC would, like this.

*an example of a posting by Prof.Chaos*
(PC)ah, Tar-and-Feathers Boy, we meet again.

(TFB)hello there Prof. Chaos. Nice gauntlet.
*end example posting*(i realise this posting was a bit lame, but it's only an example)

so within PC's posting TFB is brought to life, and can be controlled thusly. However, when controlling an inactive character some amount of restraint should be employed. if you destroy your inactive opponent in one hit then it makes for quite a boring posting doesn't it?

The new section on the main page could be something like this.

"Inactive Characters.

Name: e.g. Tar-and-Feathers Boy
Background: (keep this short)Arch nemesis of Prof.Chaos
Controlled mainly by: e.g. Prof.Chaos"

This idea also allows members to think up their own nemeses and have them as inactive characters, or just to think up the odd villain or sidekick here and there.

if anyone is still deleriously confused then let me know and i will try and explain it another way.

good idea, then we wont have to be fighting giant mechanical gorillas all the time. smiley - smiley

that's a point, the giant mechanical gorilla is a perfect example of what i'm on about. it was controlled by Cromson Lady and yet it was still a character.
