Twitter is exploding with Towel Day activities.

As of this moment, more than 3 dozen people have expressed admiration for Bluebottle's towel cartoon.

Maybe a folded dishtowel will fit in the pocket of my shorts or shirt.

So far 85 have expressed admiration for Bluebottle's cartoon on Facebook, too!

My towel sat with me when I was helping to run a bookstall - I met two other froods who knew where their towels were and they were very impressed by the Twice-42 book!

Actually, I use a very large green beach towel to sit on when I am mixing soil for my garden. I spend a lot of time sitting on this towel.

I joined the local pride parade, carrying my towel draped over my backpack.

My newest batch of are made of bamboo fibers which adds a hitherto unknown benefit: They can be used to feed pandas!

It got up to 80 degrees F. today. I spent some serious time on the green beach towel, sifting stones from my garden soil, and then mixing compost into it for my bean patch. So far, I've plated beets and green beans.

Can I ask a daft question: though pleasantly delighted that the picture of a is popular on Twitter and , is it actually on h2g2 too? Or will it be in next week's

To tell the truth, I had not actually contemplated including your viral towel pic in the Post. Partly because you have both a cartoon and a comic in next week's issue.

However, due to its enormous popularity, I shall endeavour to include this masterpiece in a future issue. Stay tuned.

I've used my green beach towel three days in a row. My brother gave me a huge planter -- 16 gallons? 32 gallons? Somewhere in there? -- for Christmas. I set it out in a permanent sunny location yesterday and got it 2/3 full of garden soil. I sat on the towel and mixed different types of soil with compost and fertilizer, then dumped the mixture into the planter. I will plant zucchini in it when it's more nearly full.

It's a great towel!
