With one exception (who shall remain nameless) it doesn't matter who for, just please make sure that, if you can, you vote tomorrow.

Remember, under PR a low turnout increases the relative strength of the lesser parties. Decide who you *don't* want representing us in Europe and get yourself off to the polling station to vote against them.

I'm not trying to tell you how to vote, just asking you to make sure that you do vote.

Thanks.

Ferrettbadger. The Renegade Master

And of course telling people not to vote for fascist parties eh?

FB

P.S. Mods, I have not mentioned who the fascist party standing are, so any connecitons people make with any party real or imagined is something they did and not something I said.

I think that's legitimate if it's your choice. I spoiled my ballot in the last general election because the candidate of my preferred party was corrupt (something which has now been proven) and his opponents were all deeply unpleasant.

If you take the time to make your voice heard, fair enough.

Problem is, a spoiled ballot doesn't get counted so, well, I refer to the first post!

I thought they had to at least keep a record of the numbers of spoiled votes?

I think they do.What I mean is that a spoiled paper doesn't count as a vote against the nasty people.

It was an odd post to be yikesed. I was only mentioning leafletting for UAF.

Anyway, off to bed. Rather tired.

Thanks for the smiley - eureka Roymondo.

As people have smiley - skull to give people like me the vote, I vote on every occasion, as I believe in Democracy smiley - rofl*smiley - 2cents* and I also if I don't vote, how can I complain about the status quo?

Spoiling your ballot paper is registered but is an ignored vote.

I agree, as did my parents, that a box indicating 'No faith in any of the above.' (notice the wording!!!) should be included, but no Party will sign up for that, and no, PR will not work either, for the same reason!

As a certain newspaper has indicated, you get the MP who is prepared to stand for you, but none do it altruistically. If there's smiley - 2cents there they'll claim it!

I'm waiting for 'that' newspaper to start on Councilors' expenditures!!! smiley - bigeyessmiley - yikes

My vote will be in the box. tomorrow...

Very dear friends,

I have already used a postsal vote, which I applied for in time in order to exercise my vote both for the EUC and the local vote.

I think that people realise how very important it is to vote, and certainly the postal vote for two different organizations was quite a difficult one to work out. I do not think that I spoilt my paper and a friend came in to help me sort out the two envelopes which needed to be filled with the relevant vote.

Thank you for your help. I might inform you that the first reply to this was when the subject was HIDDEN. Fortunately I cottoned onto it and went up to a posting which had the correct subject entered and hopefully this will be accepted.

My goodness. I thought I lived in a free country. !!

With many thanks,

Christiane

Good on ya'.

The ban on discussing political stuff should be lifted tonight after the polls close.

This ban doesn't seem to extend to BBC broadcasting, only those of us that care for the right reasons rather than because we're paid to.

Yes, do go and vote or I'll put a snail on you eye!

If you can't make up your mind - or don't bother to care - put a blank ballot if that's permitted in your country.

My grandpa and great grandpa (the former's father in law) were amongst those who worked hard for general suffrage in the Far North during the first decades of the last century. Grandpa told me a lot about that, and the fight did by no means end just because the law on general suffrage was passed. I don't think I've missed an election so far since I was allowed to vote. I've put in a blank ballot occasionally when I've considered all candidates/parties to be crap and unworthy of my support.

Personally I consider refusal to vote as a great deceit and treachery to my late family members and to all other's around the world who fought and still fight for the right to vote.

People actually still die for this right!

No! Don't put a blank ballot! That wouldn't count as a vote. Every vote needs to count as a vote for reasons I'm not allowed to mention.

Please note that in line with the political parties and other UK broadcasters, the BBC will not be reporting the election campaign or offering discussion about the campaign while the polls are open on 4 June on any of its outlets. Our messageboards will remain open on Polling Day; we're just asking all users to refrain from discussing the elections while the polls are open. Usual BBC House Rules will resume once the polls are closed after 10pm.
