He's dead! http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,,2220208,00.html
The man *was* the 70s and I always felt a little left out as I think I was the only kid I knew that didn't have one of those Evel Knievel motorbikes that used to be able to make big jumps down the stairs. I just to have a lot of fun playing with my mates' though.

Flip ... even I had one.....
Mind you he must have been an age by now - at least the bits that were original.

Dammit, he was on my shortlist for Deathlist next year! Had been ill for quite some time, even though he and Kanyw West have just resolved their differences.

They've re-released the Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle, cast from the original moulds! It's about £30. Well worth it. Very tempted.
I got one of these for Christmas 1975. Just like the real dude, the figure got more & more damaged but persisited in risking his plastic life. He had no feet after Summer '76...

Moonhogg - Captain Coffee Break Posted Dec 4, 2007
Like the Space Hopper, this is another of those toys I never had as a kid. I remember a mate of mine, he had *every* toy... the different Evil bikes, and the big stunt truck to go with it...
I remember also the fury of his dad when Evil jumped over the truck, but then hit the side of his Dad's car, putting a nice dent in it...

My lack of Evel Knievel stut bike is, I think, another major factor in my sexual persuasion. Maybe not quite as influential as the Su Pollard kiss, but influential none the less.

The Sue Pollard kiss??
The mind boggles...
I have to admit, the thought *is* enough to put a man off...
