The Postal Strike...

They should have opted for across the board coordinated postal mischief, naughtiness and monkey business as opposed to strike. Everything gets sent but to a completely wrong place. Pick a smith, any smith. That'd get a response.
Or they could have waited... for Christmas.

Speaking form a really selfish point of view, as my job is in the Customer Service division I *really* hope it is sorted out before the xmas season starts in earnest.

I wondered about that. Postal strikes are usually at Christmas aren't they? It's a tradition. I'm sure it's in the "Twelve Days of Xmas" somewhere - "Four striking posties, Three French hens, Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree."
Maybe it was a toss-up between what would cause the most hassle - striking at Xmas or during an election? Looks like they dipped out though 'cos there's not going to be an election.

Really? They must have known something no one else did given the ballot was in May. Crikey my leaders claim to be precient but I never credited it...
