are sweetbreads actually bulls testicles? or is that a load of b*****ks? if so, why do people eat them? if not, why do i think they are?

Sweetbreads are the pancreas or thymus gland of an animal. I don't know the word for bull's testicles when used as food but lamb's testicles are sometimes known as frivolities.

I believe I've heard the bulls testicles called Rocky Mountain Oysters, though that is probably a local term.

frivolities? it seems to me that there is nothing frivolous about eating lambs testicles. surely it is something not to be entered into lightly, and to be taken very seriously indeed.
