RE: Post 19 ~ Langley & Homer Collyer. A very interesting book about them, “My Brothers Keeper” by Marcia Davenport, She also wrote “Valley of Decision” made into a movie with Greer Garson & Gregory Peck.

The Collyers died surrounded by the junk in their house. It took five hours of digging to find Homer's body, and three more weeks to find his brother's body. The weight of the junk removed from the house was more than that of a blue whale. smiley - yuk

Diogenes of Sinope was known for going around with a lamp to see if he could see an honest man. Somehow that noble desire got lost in the naming of the condition. I doubt that he would be happy to know it was named after him. smiley - sadface

I've certainly regretted chucking out some of the children's books I used to have.
One of the problems with keeping items 'that might come in useful one day' is remembering where they are when you want them.

Disposing of stuff can be a problem in itself. I wanted to find a good home for my old college textbooks but couldn't even give them away. I hate just throwing away decent stuff, but sometimes the effort of recycling just isn't worth it.

I have a taste for artistic plates and cups. When I decide that I have too many of them, I donate some to a local charity that resells them.
