Are there any restaurants dedicated to traditional British cuisine outside of the UK?

Florida Sailor All is well with the world

I actually noticed the typo in the menu before posting. I thought 'pas and carrots' might be a little less disgusting than 'peas and carrots', but you never know.

On a side note we have a river near here that was called the 'Pease River' in the 19th century, with its dark tannin colour this is understandable. During the land boom of the 1920's the name was changed to the 'Peace River'.

I know we are not allowed several British ingredients, when ordering Haggis here ingredients such as lung and other 'offal' are forbidden.

Around here 'pasties' are used to conceal intimate parts of the female anatomy at top-less clubs. I will leave any further research to the readersmiley - blush

Oh, so that's what they are called. I suppose I always knew they had a name, but it never occurred to me to wonder what it was until you gave the answer.

Pasties are popular among miners in upstate Michigan and parts of Canada.

Sho - employed again!

I've only ever seen it called 'pasty' in the singular

Over here in the Düsseldorf area all the Irish pubs offer "traditional Irish food" which seems pretty much the same as "traditional British food" to me. Usually fish and chips (grumble: no mushy peas), steak and ale pie, shepherd's or cottage pie, sausage and mash with onion gravy. Roast beef & "Yorkshire" pudding etc etc.

one does cheese on toast as a bar snack, which is great.

If it was traditional Irish food they'd throw a bowl of stew at you and tell you to eff off.

they do sell stew, and colcannon and stuff. I quite like it, but it's nothing that I don't eat at home.

When I eat out, it had better be very very good. Because what I get at home is, frankly, on occasion Michelin smiley - starsmiley - starsmiley - star standard. Yes, my smiley - chef is that good smiley - smiley

I could murder a Cornish pasty now.

Preferably one that hasn't been worn by Sho's smiley - chef, but beggers can't be choosers.
