Are the newer ones by Adam Hargreaves as good as the originals?

MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship.

I can find out. My G/f's alter-ego is Mr Tickle, and she has all the books, and bought Mr Men in London on it's first day of issue so if anyone would know, she would. I'll enquire later.

Ok, Teaswill. I asked her and she said apart from bringing the characters up to date, and adding Little Miss Characters to the series, they have been bought into the 21st Century so not much difference. She's happy and that says quite a lot

These will be ideal presents for the grandchildren in years to come. Especially with CD's to accompany them. No 1 grandchild will grow up speaking English, but it will be tinged with American, I'm fairly sure.

Our kids loved the Mr Men books back when they were little, but we were lent them, and gave them back when they had grown out of them. Really, Sho - is there no Mr Kitzel?

And, according to Wiki

Mr. Tickle appears under the titles Monsieur Chatouille (French), Don Cosquillas (Spanish), Mr. Goglais (Welsh), Unser Herr Killekille (German), Meneertje Kietel (Dutch), Ο Κύριος Γαργαλίτσας (Greek), 搔癢先生 (Taiwan), 간지럼씨 (Korean), Fætter Kilderik (Danish), Gubben Killekill (Swedish), מר דגדוג (Hebrew), Mr. Csiki (Hungarian) and Senhor Cócegas (Portuguese).

No doubt some of those letters will come out illegible when I post this, but no, I can't read Hebrew either.

Anyway, German is in there - so, there you go!

This is an interesting question - I used to really enjoy the Mr Men books and wondered about the new ones, too.

I saw a few books with new characters and thought the names were a bit more vague than the original characters, who had clear attributes, so I didn't like the looks of those, but I see there is a limit to the number of possibilities there are... The new books about adventures with the original characters are quite fun, though - my sister had a couple of those.

Roger Hargreaves introduced Little Miss characters, I think - I certainly remember them "in my day" smiley - seniorsmiley - winkeye

Have you read Roger Hargreves animal series? buzz etc. I think the humour is closer to the original Mr Men books than the new ones.

Yes, at least some of the Little Miss books are Roger's.
Hadn't seen the animal ones - what a pity they appear to be out of print.
