Are pull ups a weight bearing exercise?

Perhaps try an exercise class or a Wii fitness game. I understood that any exercise is good for depression - although it needs to be something you can feel satisfied doing.

Duration might matter, i.e. longer periods being better than shorter ones. If half-hour sessions don't seem effective, try 45- or 60-minute ones instead.

...always remember, though, if over forty and especially if over sixty, if feeling short of breath, stop, rest and wait till heart rate and respiratory rate return to normal...
I could throw in a couple of horror stories from my National Guards years of people literally killing themselves with over exertion.
For example, at annual physical qualifications, after the two mile run, the Colonel of my brother's regiment sat down, remarked, "I don't fell very good.", fell over and died of a heart attack.
Myself, I won't run the two mile event as a two mile sprint anymore, though I did till I was 42.

...on running events, a good natural approach is simply to alternately walk and run. Set out walking, run briefly as long as it feels comfortable, walk some more, etc. ...
This is called 'scout's pace', gets you there a little more quickly than simply walking, meanwhile producing some useful training effect.

That is very sound advice. If you get out of breath, then you're dong anaerobic not aerobic exercise. You should be able to talk while you exercise.

I've never found that achievable whilst running. Cycling however, it's hard to shut me up (a 20% slope will do it)

I used to do that too, at my brother in law's farm, riding downhill from the house on the hill at the turn off from the main road along an unpaved utility road to the main house on my mountain bike.
(About a 700m course.)
Didn't have to touch the pedals until I came to the dry gulch only 30 meters from the house.
Pedaling it back was a little more strenuous.

Me neither. The conversation I was able to have was the one between my two knees, which were competing to see which one could scream the loudest with pain.

On sports and geriatric nutrition, there is more to good bone health than just calcium, which in bone occurs in the form of calcium phospate.
There is also collagen, which provides the bulk of the bone volume and its strength.
Bone without collagen is as soft as warm butter.
Also there is elastin, which forms the bulk of the periosteum, the protective membrane coating on the bone.
You can usually peel it from the bone of a barbecued rib.
The most common form of arthritic inflammation of the joints is due to erosion of the elastin membranes of the periosteum.
B vitamins, usually from the bran of cereal grains, are also important to the health of the periosteum.
Another common source of elastin is the membrane on the inside of an eggshell.
Myself, I take a bone meal supplement along with the calcium carbonate and potentiating vitamin D and B vitamins, with meals.
In popular consumer food products, most of the bone, after being hydrolyzed in an industrial pressure cooker, ends up in hot dogs.
If they were to mark the bone meal content in the frankfurters, I'd actively favor brands with a higher bone meal content.

I think you know I wasn't talking about going down it
