they're professional athletes - they want to win. 2nd is (as Jess Ennis' coach said) like losing anyway.
The TeamGB thing - meh. it could have gone to Team Sky or at least the Dressage team or something. But anyway. As long as it's by telephone vote it's a popularity thing so I can't care. As long as it doesn't go to a footballer, that is...
