This is it then. The bill to privatise the NHS is barely through parliament (still to visit the Lords) and Lansley has put this trust into 'special measures'

Will he declare it bankrupt and dissolve the trust, close the hospitals, and dismiss the staff?

Or will a private company be found to step in and rescue the situation at the last minute?

Rhetorical question of course smiley - erm

This man's name will be synonymous with the destruction of the NHS in the same way Beeching is a byword for railway destruction. He won't care of course, as he will be a director on some private healthcare company by then. Any odds on it being the one that 'rescues' the South London healthcare trust?

Just to make this a little less political, the reason the trust is in such a mess is the Labour initiated PFI disgrace that started the whole privitisation ball rolling. Labour want the NHS dead too, so they score no moral points here.

The NHS RIP..........safe in no-ones hands.

Interesting piece of imformation here I thought.

While fulfilling his duties(as minister for privatising the NHS) Andrew Lansley foumd time to attend votes where he voted VERY STRONGLY against a hunting ban.

Luckily for the health conscious, he also found time to vote MODERATELY FOR a smoking ban.

Phew, at least one man has his priorities in the right order!

I’m the only one in my family, from my dad who died 30 odd years ago to my youngest sister, that hasn’t worked for the NHS; I’ve been a patient more often than not.
So you could say Ive got a good insight as to how it was and what it has become.

I’ve had three surgical procedures recently and the level of care if you can call it that, is now none existent,
I was discharged from a day care ward a week ago without any sort of concern, info as to what to expect or do, no pain relief, they were too busy stood around complaining to each other, as to how crap the NHS has become. Even when I was on a trolley waiting to go into theatre, the nurse that should have been caring for me was telling others and them telling her as to when they were starting their new jobs out of the NHS.
My next procedure will be conducted in a private hospital where so far, if it needs doing, it’s done next day not in 5 months time, your spoken to like a human being and more importantly, people care.
It’s so sad to see such an institution as such being torn apart by mindless bureaucrats who frankly don’t care as long as their ok jack, that being, retiring early on their lavish pensions to go live abroad.

As someone working in the NHS I can report that we are so bogged down with recording of what we have done to who, when and with what in order to prove that we have met targets to prove that quality is kept up and to facilitate an internal accounting proceedure, thet the tail is vigorously wagging the dog.

In fact, the tail is wagging the dog to within an inch of it's life.

Wooooo hoooooo Good news at last !!!

Lansley has been given the push' although this will be inconvienient for his wife in her capacity as an 'advisor' to private medical firms on how to effectivly lobby MPs. (That was a fortuitous pairing eh)smiley - ok

And now we have that fine upstanding Jeremey Hunt to look after our nation's healthcare smiley - magic

I can't wait to see see SKY's winter schedule brim full of medical dramas where the patients always live and are saved by dashing middle management bean counters (who have previously been misunderstood), PFI funding is heralded as the NHS's saviour, and all those spongers who can't afford private healthcare are exposed for the scum they are.smiley - cheers

In the words of Moe Howard,

Why I oughta...........
