Right assuming two RAM chips have the same type, and clockspeed. What is the difference between say a 8GB Ebuyer Extra Value 1600 and a Mushkin super fancy 8Gb 1600 at twice the price?
Are they actually better? Make oyu computer run faster? Or are you just paying eejit tax?

Better quality control - Cheaper ones tend to be made and sold... Expensive ones are tested, the dodgy ones are ditched, then the remainder are sold.
So, paying for the expensive stuff means theoretically you're less likely to get a duff chip (although if you do you _should_ be able to send it back for a refund - depending on where you buy it from).

So assuming all the value chips work, then at least until they stop working sooner because of a lack of quality control the PC performance owuld in the mean time be identical?
