that is quite a bit of milking, specially if you like cheese, butter and the occasional bit of cream

Talking of panic buying I hear there is now a run on stamps at the post office in lieu of the impending price rise.
Fine if you send thousands of letters. Probably not worth worrying about it you send very few letters by snail mail.

I generally buy one or two books of stamps a year
I have no plans to buy enough stamps for the next five years....
plus I like to get a book at christmas because well... the christmas stamps are somehow special

Here in Ireland the Christmas stamps are also cheaper. I think you get two free ones per book of stamps.

They're planning to let those on benefits get cheaper stamps at christmas here now. You just have to prove you're on benefits to get them.
Sounds horribly patronising to me, but then I'm not on benefits so maybe don't appreciate the 'gesture'.

do people on benefits need to send more mail by post than those of us not?
I think most mail to the benefits offices are prepaid though i could be wrong

Perhaps it's about sending CVs to prospective employers, but the same generally goes there too.

It's so they can afford to send christmas cards innit.
I think they don't want to restrict them to applying for jobs only at Christmas
Also, not everyone on benefits is out of a job (I think).
