I have a Russian ring - ie three interlinked rings worn as one. I always think it would be cool to be able to do that old Ali Bongo trick with them.

~*~I suppose what you're looking for though is more like some that's like a ring, but not a ring. Something that you can wear all the time to show you're married, but not a ring?~*~
Yeah, that. As someone already said, wedding rings as we know them started in Ancient Rome, but Ancient Rome doesn't go back far enough. I'm particularly interested in the region around the Mediterranean.
Also, why is it that some of you manly men are opposed to wearing wedding rings?

My husband - unusually- wears 2 rings!
We both exchanged rings as a sign of commitment shortly after we met, and we still wear those. They are plain titanium. I have an engagement ring - titanium with 3 diamonds studded in it. And we wear matching wedding rings - titanium with a silver band through them.

I heard that the alternative of a male wearing a ring on his finger was something called a Prince Albert but maybe that was the wrong end of the stick.

According to Stephen Fry, at the premiere of Spiceworld: The Movie', Scary Spice asked Prince Charles if Prince Albert had a Prince Albert.
And 'someone' had to explain.
