Grope**etc Lanes were quite common in lots of places, though they got renamed. If your town has a Grope Lane, or a Grape Lane, it was almost certainly once the red light district.

I really really really wanted to live in Slack Bottom but couldn't afford to: http://www.zoopla.co.uk/home-values/heptonstall/slack-bottom/

On the other hand, I did end up living next to Goose Eye Brow.

TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office

There's a Snodhurst Bottom near my granny's house in Chatham. I have a photo of the sign somewhere.

There's also a Chancery Lane in Tullamore. It was a rural area on the edge of town, now built up. I don't know where the name came from.

I heard a traffic report on 5live this morning that there was some kind of hold up centred on Coral Reef roundabout. It's somewhere in the vicinity of Bracknell.

It's the name of a kids' swimming pool nearby. It has lots of squirty hoses and a pirate ship for them to clamber on, I think (I went there once, many years ago)

Yeah, I went there as a kid too. It has water slides and such. It was good fun, but I'm not so sure I'd want to go as a grown up!

You could be right. When I lived there it was littered with dead elephants and odd socks.
