PC Faxing

Hi there,
Can anybody advise me as how to send a fax from my desktop pc.
I use a wireless router for my internet. My pc is brand new and powerful.
Do I need any additional hardware?
Do I need to attach the phone cable to the pc?
Can anyone help?

oh, I'm sure you can, and I used to do it myself years ago. I just can't remember exactly how. It wasn't from this laptop 
I seem to think it was by using an intermediary service, whereby I emailed the fax to them. Try searching on the internet?
Also, I think we had a 'fax/modem' - in the days before wifi and so on, but I remember this was quite fiddly to get right, and I never knew whether the faxes arrived or not
