When Ever

We've established these House Rules so that everyone can get the most out of the bbc.co.uk message boards, blogs, communities and comments services.

We reserve the right to fail contributions which

* Are considered likely to disrupt, provoke, attack or offend others
* Are racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit, abusive or otherwise objectionable
* Contain swear words or other language likely to offend
* Could break the law or condone or encourage unlawful activity. This includes breach of copyright, defamation and contempt of court.
* Advertise products or services for profit or gain
* Are seen to impersonate someone else
* Include contact details such as phone numbers, postal or email addresses
* Are written in anything other than English - other languages, including Welsh and Gaelic, may only be used where expressly permitted
* Contain links to other websites which break our Editorial Guidelines
* Describe or encourage activities which could endanger the safety or well-being of others
* Are considered to be 'spam', that is posts containing the same. or similar, message posted multiple times
* Are considered to be off-topic for the blog, discussion or site to which you are posting

The BBC welcomes feedback, both positive and negative, about our programmes and services but please make sure your comments are in line with the above House Rules. Repeatedly posting personal or offensive comments about individual members of the public or people who work for the BBC may be considered harassment. We reserve the right to remove such messages and take action against those responsible.

Please note that the BBC reserves the right to delete any contribution, or take action against any BBC iD account, at any time, for any reason.

By continuing you are indicating that you have read, understand and agree to abide by the House Rules laid out above. If you do not agree, please cancel.

Are these laws common for interweb sites? Please do not stray from the topic, or you may be smote by lightening (as seen above)

The laws are mainly @rse covering because the BBC is under constant scrutiny.

They do help to maintain a certain level of civilised debate. Apparently. So smiley - nahnah

Oh, and welcome, most warmly.

I have browsed here for a little while, and was going to reply to a conversation that I saw. But then, reading the laws,

* Are considered likely to disrupt, provoke, attack or offend others

That quite quickly kills all of the God vs everything else threads now, doesn't it?

* Are considered to be off-topic for the blog, discussion or site to which you are posting

That pretty well puts a close to any journals or common chat stuff too.

Wot does the song say, "Should I stay or should I go now?"

I'm guessing you're not as new as you're making out.

Then don't get hung up on the rules! Post. Take part. If you like it stay; if not, don't. What's the worst that can happen?

(Actually the worst that can happen is that the BBC rozzers will come and take away everything you own, but we try not to mention that).

smiley - laugh I do like your style, swl. But I sense that life here might not be so tolerant for a newbie.

smiley - ermYou seem to be trying to create problems before they've happened, which is the sort of thinking that will be self-fulfilling. It's only a bunch of electrons whiizzing around, after all.

Whether you stay for 3 hours or 3 days, the choice is yours. You have already posted more than Nighthoover smiley - ghost ever did! smiley - laugh

Now to have a gander at that newbie list smiley - whistle

Hi, Whenever. What exactly did you expect to find? "Here is a pink fluffy pillow, feel free to eat it as it was made by Mister Wonka"?

Meh. People usually find themelves as welcomed, or as unwelcomed, as they choose to.

Wait and see - I promise you I won't be killed for finishing the previous sentence with a preposition.

By the way When, I know your brothers What & For. I briefly had a thing with your sister Don't, but that never got far. How's your father Can't? Still the same?

My experience is that this site is far, far more civil, especially to newcomers, than the vast majority of sites on the intertubes, and the moderators are very tolerant (except on the weekends) of all sorts of stuff which might strictly break the House Rules. I don't think anyone around here wants nastiness, and in my experience, nastiness is pretty rare.

So, come on in and join some conversations.smiley - hug

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

We had, or perhaps more aptly, we have* a saying, in our family, which is somethign like:
"Its as wakky pokko as a bag of eals hanging from a carbinated lampost under the bridge'
I'm not quite sure what relivence that has here, but I'm sure if only I could make any sense of it we'd be some way further towards understanding whatever it was we wer etrying to understand, qua the underderstanding over of it all, like.

As Mr Silsby said, rules are only ther eto be broken... to which I say 'nipples'... But that is kind of a robust encapsulate all kind of response for such situations as may require an all encompasing response.

I'd personally not get yourself hung up on the T&Cs, no one else seems too smiley - erm well, cept maybe the great giant lobster theif, but honestly, if you spent all yout time trying to follow the logic behind any letalone all of the actions of the great giant lobster theif then, well, maybe we'd understand more about eals than we already did.

Anyone got any tea?
