Indirectly, I'm here because of DNA; I was wondering around the BBC Cult pages doing all the HHGG quizzes and found a link to h2g2. I didn't seek this place out, but because I already liked DNA's stuff I clicked out of curiosity.
I stayed because of the community.

There have, sporadically, been several threads on this subject. But so far, this is all new stuff. Keep posting!
How did you come to h2g2?
I first came here by (pre)googling DNA during a bad winter when I was bedridden 24/7, insomniac and unable to read. My company was a cassette recorder with a BBC adaption of "Lord of the Rings" and a laptop.
I spent many nights but never registered. Somewhere around New year the next winter I registered with the help of , but didn't do anything with my PS for months. Then I wrote an introduction about later writing an introduction and another year or so.
Thus I was bedridden again for a period of time, changed my username and made an introduction with the help of good advice from MMF, and maybe someone else, found the Thingites ... and the rest is history...

I started out on the now-dead Buffy forums, and I came across egon (U148120). Had a chat with him, clicked on some of the other convos on his page and I ended up here.
So if I've annoyed you, blame egon.

I have been here on and off for many years. What I'd like to know is, is there a direct link to it from anywhere else? It's not easy to get to from elsewhere in the BBC.

if you have the weird and wonderful news box selected to come up on your front page, it has the three FP guide entries featured with links to the entries which, of course, bring you here, plus a direct link to H2G2 Highlights (i.e. the Front Page)... It also links to the QI site I believe although I cannot follow external links from hrer.
