data speeds, again
kea ~ Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small, unregarded but very well read blue and white website Started conversation Aug 30, 2009
This never fails to confuse me
My ISP speed test says this:
Last Result:
Download Speed: 891 kbps (111.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 128 kbps (16 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 112 ms
My mac's activity monitor says data received is between 5 and 20 KB/sec (it's showing the changes all the time).
What's the difference between download speed and transfer rate in the speed test?
What's latency?
And why the huge difference between the speed test and what my mac says? Which should I believe?
