Hate to be crude, but that's what it boils down to. I'm kinda new to h2g2, but I was wondering--what exactly do you need to do to get your articles looked at? I've submitted three things, one for peer review, and even THAT one's been totally ignored. If they're not any good I wish someone'd at least TELL me so I'm not sitting in the dark wondering what I'm doing wrong...
sorry. Rant of the day. But it really bothers me nonetheless.
Triv.

Hmmm. Well, with the previous system, it'd usually be a matter of weeks (and quite a few of 'em), before your article gets seen by a subeditor. With the peer review, it's just a case of persuading people to have a look...
I'll pop along now, shall I?

I know the feeling. Not with respect to articles on H2G2. I just write things and forget about them and one fine day you wake up and have an e-mail to tell you you've been acceped.
It's like at the butcher's/post office/bakers/ticket office/sandwich counter...whatever. Noone ever sees me. It's worth considering mutating entirely to a virtual being and just roaming the Internet.
Based on the assumption that all people everywhere are alike (which is rather daring) and ignoring the fact that I live in Germany where children learn at a very early age to shout and push when queuing for something, how can I politely but firmly assert my position in the queue and GET BLOODY NOTICED???

In fact the other way of getting an approved, opps sorry, edited article is by simply posting messages to fourms. The 3 showing on my page are simply cos I write stuff somewhere which was then taken for an article. I suddenly looked down 1 day and hey 3 edited entries to my name. cool
I am trying one of my own if u r interested. On internet dating. I need female and/or gay researchers input to remove the male/straight bias.

It took nearly 4 months for my piece to be approved but it was well worth the wait. I'm waiting again

Triv, another thing to do is ask. I know I find it most impossible to do this, but ask someone to look at them. They probably will. If they're a subeditor, so much the better. But I like being asked, and I'm sure that other researchers do...

I'd love to go up to people and ask "Read my piece. It's good" but I honestly don't think I've got it in me. I'd kinda like people to find me of their own accord.
But then again, I want approoved guide entries too.
Ah, the quandry.
